Could you tell me any entertainment available at Catenbury? (excluding nightlife), so stuff like malls, amusement parks, go karting, laser tagging or any of this?
Faustus did a whole thread on this

    Well there's Whitefriars http://www.whitefriars-canterbury.co.uk/
and then there are more shops on the high street. It's pretty decent with most high street shops and then a few independent ones.

There's an Odeon cinema, but to be honest it's not that brilliant. They don't show all the latest releases, but other than that it's ok.

Having said that, there's another (bigger, better) cinema and big shopping centre, from what I've heard, in Ashford. Bluewater's also not that far away and you can get there by National Express Coach or train, I believe.

You're only an hour away from London by high speed train, or a bit longer if you take the regular one. Again, you can take National Express, which is cheaper but takes longer.

Also, you're really close to the Eurostar if you fancy that and you have the money.

There are some gorgeous beaches within reach too.

There's a bowling alley and skating rink (although the rink's tiny) near the centre.

Ummm, that's all I can think of at the moment, but I've never been short of things to do in Canterbury; I don't know about any of the activities you asked about, because they're not really my thing, but you should be able to find out quite easily with a quick internet search! It's a small city but it has pretty much everything you need, and if it doesn't it's generally just a short trip.

I can confirm there is a Laser Quest arena in Canterbury, except it might be getting bulldozed over the summer to make way for residential places. We're not sure what's happening with it yet so watch this space - a friend of mine is speaking to the owner about what's happening so I'll get back to you when I have a definite answer.

Thanks this has been really helpful ..but I've got some questions still.

Being a Muslim, I was wondering about the number of Halal restaurants in Kent (Canterbury Campus).
Like are there any in the Uni itself?
Are there any around the Uni?
    In the town?
    Supermarkets that sell Halal meat?

    Thanks in advance =D!

There's an Asda in Canterbury which sells Halal meat. You have to take 2 buses but it's really not too difficult to get to.

If you don't get any more responses regarding the restaurants, and you're still wondering, you could contact the Islamic society for advice.

Asda Price don't have a large variety... Went down to Kent yesterday to check out the place and getting Key to my flat (Moving in next week)

I didn't come across a single Halal Butcher's shop though, I think in this case you can buy Kosher Meat if there happens to be an odd Jewish shop in the area but I doubt there will be. There is about 10 takeaways/restaurants that claim to sell Halal (not sure on a couple of them, but if just being Halal by name is fine yeah go there by all means). Their is a Mosque close to Uni, They might have people who travel to and back from places that do Halal... You can get in touch with a brother or two from there and ask them to fetch stuff for you too... I am sure they will help lol (I hope so, because that's what I think am gonna be doing myself)
