After you apply they email you about the first test in a couple of days. You have 72 hours to do each test. They're generally pretty fast at getting back to you. After doing the tests I got told the next day that I'd got an interview (though they haven't got in touch about booking it yet...).
Have you booked your interview yet? I've just been given a phone interview (for consulting as well), which is on Tuesday, and I'm panicking a bit about how much I don't know :eek3:

No, they haven't got back to me yet. I don't mind too much since I at least know I have one, but if I don't hear on Tuesday I might email them.

The phone interview really isn't too bad. I read that phone interviews are used to get rid of bad candidates rather than test good ones so the questions aren't too hard.

Haha, ok, so if I don't get through this round I'll know I'm bad. Well, I'm not actually too worried about it now, though whether I'll feel the same on Tuesday morning is another story.

Heh, I might have dug myself a bit of a hole there. The stuff in this thread basically covers it all so you should be fine.

as soon as you submit your online application, do they send out the numerical test automatically?

No, it takes a couple of days. Which is good, because if they send out the numerical and verbal tests right after you submit your application and then reject you later you can't tell which bit you failed on.

Hi guys, I'm new here so I hope you don't mind me intruding!
I'm thinking about applying for the actuarial & insurance solutions internship but I can't seem to find much about what exactly I'd be doing during the placement. Do you reckon I should just get in touch with deloitte to get more info?

Hi there! I'm also new to this! You know there is a option to attach your CV to the application. I was wondering if it is better to do so, or not? And I was also thinking about the work that you'll actually do during the programme. I will apply for Professional Services Rotation in Cardiff. I appreciate any replies, and congratulations to those who already received confirmation for their places on the progamme?

The way I see it is that it can't really hurt. Unless you have a terrible CV. But it's a good space to make sure what you've done is recognised.

i think u should def attach your CV, its a very important part of the process. They say it is optional but I believe its ness
its just another way to sell yourself because the word count on the questions are limited.

thanks i want to send it off asap because I am worried they may reach their quota seeing as how they are recruiting on a rolling basis.

I know exactly what you mean! As soon as possible is always going to be the best route, but I doubt they're close to capacity yet.

i need help! im finding it difficult to describle corporate finance in one sentence...its because they do some much, so do i simply list the services they do within corporate finance..?? then theres no room to talk about how benefits their clients

Well, the basics will be the same wherever u are i think...see my previous post for details. But obviously u need to research what they do in actuarial and insurance solutions and incorporate that. You could contact them...but look on the website and try to find out first, cz they might think ur being lazy by simply asking

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I'm just sticking to what I can find on the website and in the people profiles etc. Hoping to get the application off soon!

Still no word, if they don't contact me tomorrow I'll ring them. Am i right in saying that this is around when all the interns get interviewed again for full time positions? Maybe they're busy around this time.

Well, you can use more than one sentence. Maybe you've written too much for the others. I just said how they advise on topics such as M&A etc and can help the client reduce risk. I don't know how good an answer that is though. I don't think they're looking for detailed descriptions, otherwise they'd have a bigger word limit.

Dont worry about firstly the offices must have been closed from fri evening-tue due to the bank holiday and they still must be dealing with the summer inters from this year. But if your still worried call them up, it also shows that your keen and really want the position.
I wrote about a sentence on each, I thought it might be the main question so want to get it write, thanks

so have you done the tests? your waiting to hear from that?
