I need to get around to finishing my current playthrough of FFVIII... it's by far my favourite of the series - in fact it's my favourite videogame of all time - and yet I keep forgetting to play it. :p:

My thoughts exactly. My personal favourite final fantasy. One of my favourite games.

Why does everybody look down on it so much? it upsets me.
I rememeber getting the original copy (non platinum) for about £4 pre owned in game in Poole years ago. A good purchase indeed.

New thread, eh? I miss the old one. We should have busted out Break Post Limit to get over 9999 posts in the last one.

Bah, if everyone disagrees with the lack of number, I can get it added easily enough :p:.
    :ninja:

Fix us up with a JD and X Potion, would you? :p:
We're all out of X-Potions. Would JD and Ether do? Or I could probably make some Hi-Potion shots :p: I used to make some pretty good Smoke Bomb cocktails, but I must get payment up front if you want one. People have a tendency to run away after they drink it, often without paying

That's legal as long as you own the original disk isn't it?
It's not, actually, because there's copy protection on the disk to stop you from making copies. If you bypass those, it's illegal, regardless of whether you're allowed to make a copy or not. In truth, though, I'm going to be resorting to the same thing - most of my FF VII/VIII/IX CDs are scratched to the point where they're completely unplayable, but Playstation emulators have come a long, LONG way in recent years so I can make a copy and play the games on my PC. I've already paid for the games once so I have no intention of paying for them again, especially when it's mostly for nostalgia reasons.
Was quite funny, actually. I tried ePSXe with a game that did work, just to see how it'd do. I didn't bother fiddling with graphics settings or anything, and it bombed through the intro sequence (which normally takes a few minutes) in under 5 seconds, running in excess of 2000 frames per second

    Tifa or Aerith?
Don't start that nonsense. Yes, the Japanese are pervs who have a tendency to make a couple of cute-looking girls in skimpy clothes for guys to perv over (Tifa and Rikku, for instance...and Rikku was underage in FFX), but we've had that discussion crop up time and time again over the years and it's just silly.
