    Sony HD3-HD5 ?
Hey. I know there are similar posts, but still...

I am considering getting either the Sony NW-HD3 or HD5. I know all there is to know about them, but wanted to know what people actually think of these devices (if you actually have one). The HD5 came out today though.

    1. what are your opinions on the battery life - is it really "30 hours"?
    2. what is the build quality like? Ive held an HD3 and its feels solid enough
    3. do they break down easily?
    4. are mp3s easily transfered (+ how fast)

    thnx

it rocks i want one so much, if my ipod wasn't engraved it would be on ebay now.

i've got a friend who works at dixons and the build quality is solid (as you would expect from sony)

it's not going to break, and if it does sony's customer support has always been very good when i've had to talk to them.

i expect the battery life is 25+ hours but it totally depends on how you use it.

It dosen't play MP3's at all. Any MP3's you have it has to convert to ATRAC3 (Sony's own format), any CD's you own you'll have to re rip to ATRAC3 because converting MP3>ATRAC3 looses alot of quality

If it wasn't for the ATRACness I would have waited and got one

yeah, but all of their Hard Drive/Flash players now support mp3.

silly old sony, they have actually screwed up with MP3 players.

the HD5 is amazing though, its the size of an ipod mini but has 10x the caacity and a longer battery life.

Last time I read the specs on the Sony Website it said the only format it supported was ATRAC3 and then went on to talk about how great it was
