In high school, mine was 8.45 - 3.10. Sixth form was 8.55 - 3.55.

8:30 - 3:30

My school is 8:45 to 3:45 with an hour for lunch and one break in the morning for 15 minutes (we used to have afternoon break too and a slightly shorter lunch).

My brother's school is 8:45 to 3:15 (2:30 on wednesdays) with half an hour for lunch. I think he just has the one break.

My college, if you're in for the first and last lessons, runs from 8:30 to 4:20. My school went from 8:45 to 3:05 though. Don't know why they bothered with the extra five minutes, but that was my school for you.

Mine was 9am - 3.10pm. In N.Ireland it doesn't very much, the most drastic one I've heard from my area is 9am - 3.45pm.

used to be 8.50-4.00 at my old school.
now at sixth form and its 8.55 - 4.15 then 50 mins travel to get home. oh and a 20min wait to get the train

In France a lot of schools start at 8am, and from what I've heard it's not unknown for schools in America to start at 7:45 or whatever.

You heard right.

At my high school, first class starts at 8.00am, but we have to be there for 7.50am registration.

Also some clubs/activities/student groups like student government, National Honor Society run from 7.15am-7.45am. Plus you can also do 'early bird' physical education classes that start at 6.50am, and this can allow you to take an extra academic class that you wouldn't be able to take otherwise.

We get longer holidays then schools in England though, so I can't complain. By the time I go back (26 August), I'll have had almost 11 weeks off for summer.

wow I didn't know school starts sooo late in England! I'm from Germany and at my school first class started at 7.50! it varies a lot here too - I know schools which start at 7.30 or even earlier!
