What's the result when you do this?
Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Device Manager > Under Imaging Devices > If there's something there, right click it > Properties > Device status?

Re: *Rep* How to turn on an Acer Crystal Eye webcam? *Rep*This is the point I'm trying to get at, but I wasn't sure if the Crystal Eye webcam software included the drivers or not.the crystal eye webcam you have installed a software utility for the webcam its not the actual driver you should install the drivers of the cam

I still think you need the webcam driver... What I would do is, locate your laptop on the Acer website, Download both drivers and install 1, check if webcam works, if not, install the other.
And make sure you get the right driver for your operating system. -

How do I download the drivers?
You'll need to find the make of the camera but they are all there...

I'm not sure if you should have uninstall the Acer software... but we'll see.
I think it's maybe because I had to reboot my computer previously. (Maybe should have mentioned this earlier
)
And now I need some DV wizard thing to turn my webcam on but I don't know how to get that? -

Even my Acer laptop is not working. Please help. I have Acer Aspire 4710Z with crystal eye webcam. I tried to install both the chichony as well as bison drivers from the Acer support website. It dint work. Heres what id did:
-I downloaded and installed Bison driver from acer website.
-Restarted the computer.
-opened yahoo messenger. It said Web Cam not installed.
Uninstalled Bison and did same thing for Chicony.
Can you please tell what other steps i need to do in order to make my webcam work.
Also,
When i got to dvice manager, i dont see "imaging devices". I went into "Sound, Video and game controllers">>Video Codecs>> properties>> device status :This device is working properly.
Please help.. Thanks in advance
