part timers, need not apply.

[Coming either mid way through the season or next season]

I give you:

THE UBER LEAGUE.

What is the Uber League? It is the product of frustration from stupid fantasy football leagues that do not reward football knowledge buying Ronaldo, Lampard, Gerrard etc.

So how is it different? Well:

* Only one person can own each player

* You can sign players from any of 5 leagues (Ita, Fra, Spa, Ger, Eng)

* You must have 4 players of the same nationality of your league (adds to the tactics and fun)

* (most important) the scoring rewards not just goalscorers but balanced well thought out teams and works in the same way as baseball fantasy with categories like goals, assists, tackles etc being used and not just 5 points for a goal.

==========================

How to play

Choosing teams

You will be given a draft pick number.

The player with the lowest draft pick will pick first team.

Once all teams have been chosen the draft will commence.

The Draft

When it is your turn to draft you may draft any player that has not already been picked

The way you pick your draft is:

Cristiano Ronaldo

1st Round - 1st pick

Your pick will then be confirmed and given his position. If you are unsure about a players position and would like to know before you draft then ask in the Q&A section.

A complete draft pick will look like this:

Cristiano Ronaldo - Real Madrid (or whatever team picks him up)
RW/LW
1st Round - 1st pick

The Team Thread

Once you have drafted 11 players, a manager and 5 subs you must then make a team thread.

Team threads will include a list of your players and manager.

Team threads act as a place to keep track of your players but also to show off your club, their achievements and their history (when you have one).

The Game

Each week you must make a team from the players you have.

The team must be set out in either 4-4-2/4-5-1/4-3-3/4-2-3-1

Each formation must have players that match the formation and there must be a DM in each team but no more than 2 at any time:

4-4-2:

1 LB, 2 CB, 1 RB
2 Wingers, 1 DM, 1 CM/AM/DM
2 CF/FW

4-5-1

1 LB, 2 CB, 1 RB
2 wingers, 1 DM, 1 CM/DM/AM, 1 CM/AM

4-3-3

1 LB, 2 CB, 1 RB
2 AM/CM, 1 DM
2 Wingers and a striker or 3 strikers

4-2-3-1

1 LB, 2 CB, 1 RB
1 DM, 1 DM/CM
2 Wingers and an AM or 3 AM
1 CF/FW

These teams are posted to me via PM and then posted in the "Match Area" thread for confirmation when both teams have been received each week and only the players in these 1st teams and the manager will have their points scored.

The Homegrown rule:

Finally the reason you were given a country to pick from is because you must have 4 active players from your nation playing for you at any one time.

=============================

Scoring

As with fantasy baseball the scoring will be decided via your teams stats in various areas.

In baseball for example ERA, K's, AVG etc

In our game the stats will be the following.

Wins (this can only be determined by Manager)
Losses (same but obviously the lower the better)
Goals For
Goals Against (does not affect strikers)
Assists
Tackles made
Clean Sheets (keepers and defenders only)
Red Cards (lower the better as with ERA for example)
Own Goals (same deal)

So there are 9 areas in which you need to look at your team and the key is BALANCE not just flash players who score goals.

=======================================

This can work but it needs YOU.

I'm already running this on another site and the reponse so far is fantastic, I just wanted to offer TSR the same chance.

If it were possible they would be, but they're not.

I don't see what is complicated with foreign players and the scoring is simple enough given all the stats you need can be found on British Eurosport.

As I say you need to know your footy or everything will be complicated.

Hardcore Footy Fans only.

Because part of the skill in organising your FF team is knowing when to temporarily bench/reorganise your team when some of your players are playing each other.

Well if all your players play in different leagues they won't be playing against each other very often.

I've seen these done on 606 before and they're just too complicated without a pre-made program to do all the legwork for me. Good luck though

Oh I get it. Still don't agree like.

There is more skill in having to pick from "lesser" players than knowing when to play Ronaldo.

I think your attitude might be the attitude of the majority but I thought I'd offer it anyway. We already have this running elsewhere and it is going very well indeed.
