Movies Coming Soon! How many of these would you watch?
Whether you think cinema died with Hitchcock or only got good once Michael Bay started blowing up helicopters, this is the place where moving pictures are discussed.

Re: Movies Coming Soon! How many of these would you watch? My friend has told me that the time travellers wife book is better than the film. She said there's so many inaccuracies in the trailer that it made her mad.(Original post by Ilora-Danon)
The Time Traveller's Wife looks to be a real weepy. I've seen the advert twice now during The Proposal and The Ugly Truth and it just looks so sad. Just the advert makes me depressed.
Oh and, how can I forget, New Moon - it's a given! -

Re: Movies Coming Soon! How many of these would you watch?
Going through it I kept thinking 'That looks okay, I might watch that'. But I don't even remember any of the names now that I have closed the slideshow so they can't have been that great.
I shall watch Inglourious Basterds on Monday though.
Edit: Oh but I do want to see 2012 in the cinema. The reviews for 'The Day Before Tomorrow' (or whatever it was called) said it was terrible so I didn't go and see it. When I saw it later, the plot and characters were terrible - but the special effects were amazing. So I'm not going to miss them this time.Last edited by Ribbits; 11-08-2009 at 13:01. -

Re: Movies Coming Soon! How many of these would you watch?
You are all lame for not wanting to see The Hurt Locker, it's amazing. The most ridiculously tense and exciting film I've ever seen.
District 9 is also supposed to be mind-blowingly good.
Other than that I want to see:
500 Days of Summer
Adventureland
Away We Go
The Fantastic Mr Fox
Up
Taking Woodstock
Zombieland
Where the Wild Things Are
The Road
The Lovely Bones
Whip It (purely for Ellen Page
)
Youth in Revolt
And the list didn't even have what is blatently going to be the best movie of 2010, SCOTT PILGRIM VERSUS THE WORLD. -
Re: Movies Coming Soon! How many of these would you watch?Yeah like Cloverfield. There are a few shots in the trailer that look like a fixed camera though so wooo no more painful neck whilst watching! lol(Original post by clad in armour)
I think so ye
District 9 looks almost amateur, using the same techniques as Blair Witch Project
well sort of
Not out till 2010 though.
I love going to the cinema so I'm just going to say I shall watch half of the ones listed.
