early decision questions

Hello all! I'm new to TSR.

As an American student, I will be applying to Cambridge this fall. I had a question regarding the relationship between UCAS applications and early decision applications for the US.

Would it be possible for me to apply to an American school (early decision) and Cambridge and still attend Cambridge if I somehow got in to the early-decision American school?

I was under the impression that doing this may be possible, as (due to the conditional-offer system) I won't know for sure whether I'll have a definite place at Cambridge until mid-July (when AP scores come out). As such, I would have had to enroll at an American school by then anyways (regardless of whether it is regular decision or ED)... The only problem I forsee is the part of the agreement that says that I should withdraw all applications if I get accepted ED. Does this apply to oversees universities?
