How can scholars can produce rulings on contemporary events and issues?

by means of the understanding that Allaah has bestowed upon them, using ijtihaad, qiyaas (analogy), the principles of the objectives of sharee’ah, the sayings of previous scholars, and the principles of usool al-fiqh.

I'm not joking, these are CRAZY Indian Muslims throwing their babies off the roof of a mosque for good luck.

I think they got this idea from the crazy Hindu's, which do even crazier things.

1. No, I think Pakistani laws quite barbaric. Homosexual feelings come naturally.
2. According to the Koran, women must also be educated and not allowing them to drive is in a way, restricting them from education, therefore IMO, it's not fulfilling the the will of Allah.

So consider that a tradition as opposed to it being related to Islam, tho I still don't see how they could ever do that but surely if they've got the idea from another group it's not related to Islam...

Exactly.undoubtedly, It's not Islamic in the slightest.

If you have any questions that you'd like to ask Muslims then post them in this thread and, when they have time, hopefully the Muslim population of TSR will do their best to answer your questions for you.

Don't forget that all advice is unprofessional.

So, without further ado, ask away!

Of course you can't - but the purpose of pointing out that something is customary or cultural is to point out that it is not actually part of Islam itself, and by no means do all Muslims follow it, or believe in it.

It's just a way of replying to the claim that "Islam is a barbaric religion" etc.

If it sounded like a genuine complaint e.g. "Allah is so evil for sending so many people to Hell", then I'd just reply to it, to show why the complaint is not valid.

If it was just an insult of the sake of an insult, I wouldn't really do anything

About how to deal with non-muslim??

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Allaah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion nor drove you out of your homes. Verily, Allaah loves those who deal with equity”

[al-Mumtahanah 60:8]

The life of prophet Mohammad is enough proof.
The Forgiveness of prophet Muhammad Shown to Non-Muslims.
http://www.rasoulallah.net/subject_e...&sub_id=8 649

The majority of scholars are of the view that expiation must be offered by one who kills a dibeliever who is protected by sharee’ah.

The kaafirs who are protected by sharee’ah are of three types:

1 – Al-dhimmi. This is one with whom we have a contract or treaty of al-dhimmah (i.e., one who lives in a Muslim state)

2 – Al-mu’aahad. This is one with whose people we have a peace treaty.

2 – Al-musta’man. This is one who has entered the Muslim land and has been guaranteed safety, such as those who come to do business, to work, to visit relatives, and so on.

Whoever kills a kaafir who is protected by sharee’ah has to do two things:

1 – Diyah (blood-money). He has to pay the diyah to the family of the deceased.
2 – Kafaarah (expiation). This is the view of the majority.

Quoted Islam Q&A.

Killing a non-Muslim when he is a mu’aahid “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘Whoever kills a mu’aahid will not smell the fragrance of Paradise, even though its fragrance may detected from a distance of forty days.’”

Do you believe in heavenly reward through faith alone, or faith and obeying the Muslim 'law'?

In all honest i wouldn't really get in to a fit over it. If it's someone i know i'll ask them why they would use these insults because more often than none it's usually due to a misconception.
