Jobs with PPE, IR or Politics

Hello,

I'm still hesitating between three courses to study in university; politics, international relations and politics. However, my parents are concerned about the career opportunities after university.

According to what I've read, studies in IR will get you jobs like foreign office officer or CIA agent; but my parents think that I probably won't get chosen because of my nationality (french). Same with politics; the British gov't usually prefer English people to work for them. Are they right, or will it be "easy" to get a job after finishing my degree in politics, IR or PPE?
