The University College is committed to lifelong learning and widening participation and many of our students are over 21 years old. People return to study for a variety of reasons, from seeking career changes to gaining formal qualifications and supporting practical experience. The diversity of our student body enriches everyone's experience at UCP Marjon.

Directions

Plymouth is accessed via the A38 Devon Expressway which links to the motorway network at Exeter (M5). You can join the M4 to London and South Wales or the M6 to the Midlands.

Over the last twenty years, the University College Plymouth St Mark and St John has been involved in major programmes, projects and partnerships in many parts of the world, and has received students on courses on its Plymouth site from over sixty countries International students are welcome to apply for, and enrol on, any of the University College's undergraduate or postgraduates programmes.

Library and Study Facilities

The Library is situated at the heart of the University College campus and offers a variety of services and facilities spread out over three floors. The total book holdings are now in the region of around 120,000 volumes and in addition to this we hold over 500 journals. You also have acccess to over 5,000 electronic journals. Books are arranged using the Dewey Decimal System (apart from the Ray Williams Language Library), and you can search our collections by using the online public access catalogues (OPACs) which are situated on all floors.

The Library has a small and friendly team of staff on hand to give you advice and assistance during opening hours, with a professional librarian available on the Enquiry Desk throughout the day.

IT

Computing Services aims to provide and support a range of information delivery, computing based services which will further the aims and objectives of UCP Marjon and in particular enhance the educational environment for students and assist staff at all. We run a wireless network levels in fulfilling their roles and responsibilities. A free laptop is offered to all new full time UK and EU resident undergraduate and PGCE students.

Sporting

UCP Marjon is renowned for sport - we have recently invested £12 million in a brand new state of the art sports centre and swimming pool.

Welfare Services

Student Support: We are a friendly, professional and dedicated team offering a confidential and comprehensive service to guide and support students through their studies. UCP Marjon is the only University in Devon whose Student Support services have received the coveted Matrix Accreditation, the national quality standard for organisations delivering information, advice and guidance.

Student Union

Marjon Student Union is an organisation run for and by the student population of the University College Plymouth, St Mark and St John. Student Unions are a unique chance for students to run their own services and to help support and represent themselves throughout their educational career.

Main Halls/accommodation for 1st years

The University College arranges accommodation on campus for all first years who apply and meet admissions requirements by the closing date. There are 7 catered halls of residence and 38 self catering village houses.
