Courses and fees

The support and enthusiasm given by lecturers at the university is something that students highly praised in our reviews. The teacher training was also rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the last Ofsted inspection, confirming its place as one of the best courses in the UK. The courses offer a range of practical and theory based modules to gain an insight into the chosen industry. Work placements are encouraged and the university has strong industry links – something to take full advantage of for boosting the CV and learning in a real work environment.

Travel Information

Winchester has excellent transport links including a direct 1-hour train service to London Waterloo which runs every 20 minutes during peak times. The station is also well-served by trains running to and from surrounding southern destinations such as Southampton, Bournemouth, Brighton, the New Forest among others. The campus is within walking distance of the city centre and is located close to the M3 which provides easy road access to the M25 and M27. Travelling to and from Heathrow and Gatwick airports is easy by both road and train and Southampton Airport is located 15 minutes away by train.

Facilities

The university has been praised by having high quality facilities to help aid with studying, including a 24 hour library. As well as a large stock of books, there is an on – site stationery shop for students to buy essential equipment, including USB sticks. There is also a gym, fitness studio and sports stadium. The university also own The Link Gallery, an arts space open to the public, exhibiting the students work.

Accommodation

All accommodation is in walking distance to the city centre. The university offer a range of on and off campus housing for first year students. These include catered halls, off – campus luxury apartments (which even have a TV and cleaner!) and family housing for couples with children. Safety is held as number one priority by the university, and if students choose to live on campus there are live - in Wardens, on – site assistants and first aiders at hand.
