A-Level Business Studies
Background information about studying Business Studies
The first year is basically the same as GCSE business studies and can become quite tedious because of this. However it does get more interesting in the second year which is focused on large businesses instead of sole traders :/.
How will it differ from GCSE?
Difficulty
Not that difficult (except getting those damn evaluation marks in the exams) but it is difficult to revise the knowledge of the course as there is so much of it and annoyingly, hardly any of it comes up in the exam.
Workload
Average - just classwork and some revision.
Required Individual Study
Keeping up to date with and analysing the latest business news can help the student to gain knowledge which can be used in exam questions.
How is it assessed?
Exams
Four standard exams for the A level. Mostly short essay style anwsers are required but also some shorter questions and [(easy)calculaions].
Coursework
None - at least not for AQA
Practicals
There are no practicals involved.
Field trips and excursions
Where can I go with a Business Studies A-Level
It is possible for one to take a Business Studies Degree after gaining an A-level in this area of study. Knowledge of basic business strategies etc should also help in almost any work place

What I like about studying this subject: I find most of the content interesting and looking at a case study also makes the topic less dull.
What I dislike about studying this subject: There is quite a lot of content to learn so it is hard to be very knowledgable in every section. The exams consist of a few quite long questions which require good exam technique in order to achieve high marks.

Good thing is there are a lot of hot women working within business related industries.
