Malware is the general term given to all malicious programs that disrupt/corrupt data on an ICT system

Types of Malware

Viruses

Viruses are programs that, once are on an infected computer, will copy themselves into multiple locations and drives

Trojans

Trojans work by infecting the computer then creating a back door in the computer's firewall. This then allows a hole that other malware can enter the computer and corrupt data.

Spyware

Spyware is a program that will sit on the computer, running, and log all the keys that are pressed then they will be transmitted back to the host program where they can be interpreted and passwords revealed.

Adware

Adware is software that automatically plays, displays, or downloads advertisements/pop ups/banners to a computer after the software is installed on it or while the application is being used.
