As Bolivia may be considered a ‘rogue state’ by some, this provides you with an excellent opportunity to take a slightly ominous approach to international affairs and to continue Bolivia’s disputes with Peru and Chile. You may wish to take the nation by the helm and tackle its crippling drugs trade! Though you also may wish to continue the integration of ALBA members in Latin America and the Caribbean.


Much like the EU, the South American equivalent is the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) including Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Cuba, Dominica, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Venezuela, Suriname and Saint Lucia. Like the EU, their goals include social, economic and political integration.

A common currency is being introduced to ALBA- called the Sucre


Bolivia has a policy of 12 month compulsory military service for ages of 18-49, though has a relatively small and fragmented military- 2 million in numbers

Gained independence from Spain in 1825


Bolivia is the one of the poorest and least developed countries in Latin America. Despite having the highest growth rates in Latin America before the 2008 global economic crisis, a lack of foreign investment in the key sectors of mining and hydrocarbons and higher food prices pose challenges for the Bolivian economy.


Bolivia claims the right to the Atacama corridor, under Chile’s sovereignty, rebuffed by both Chile and Peru

Drug production- the third largest producer of cocaine, contributes to the crippling drugs trade in South America; lax Argentinian borders to the south have exacerbated the trade.
