As a new university they specialise in courses with a practical nature that utilise a number of strong partnerships within the fields of business, media, nursing and sport. The main university campus in High Wycombe is currently undergoing a £200m refurbishment due for completion in 2009-10 which will unite the majority of Bucks provision on one bespoke site. FacilitiesThere are loads of facilities at Bucks New University ranging from learning resources to social areas for students. LibrariesThe University has learning resource centres at Wellesbourne, High Wycombe and Chalfont campuses. These have received a fair bit of investment recently to improve the services for students and provide good resources, computer/internet access and study spaces. The main centre in High Wycombe is open until midnight during the week and has access 7 days a week. The Wellesbourne centre isn't open as much, being closed at weekends. IT and computingComputer access is very strong at the university, offering many computers in the libraries and also 24hourinternet access within the halls of residence. During guided learnign weeks student siwll have 24hour access to the High Wycombe campus library to complete any outstanding assignments. SportsBucks New University offers a wide range of sporting activities for both students and the wider community. Bucks is a proud sporting partner of both London Wasps and Wycombe Wanderers. As part of their unique student support package all sporting activities are funded entirely by the university. WelfareThere are many support services at Bucks New University. There are also Senior Residents at both halls of residence ensure all freshers are happy and handling being away from home well. HealthcareWhen fresher students move into the accommodation they must all fill out a registration to the local doctor's surgery. The university ensures all new residents are registered. ShopsWithin the town of High Wycombe you can find all your usual high street shops, mainly located on the high street (woolworths, superdrug, whsmiths etc), in The Octagon (new look, miss selfridge, river island etc) or The Chilterns (M&S, dorothy perkins, wilkinsons etc). The town center has been undergoing a massive redevelopment, at the centre of which is the new Eden Shopping Centre. The Eden Centre is home to the likes of House of Fraser, Gap, Zara, H&M, HMV, Monsoon, Wagamama, Yo Sushi, Frankie and Benny's, Nando's, AMF Bowling, Cineworld Cinema and plenty of other big names. RestaurantsIn High Wycombe there are many restaurants, offering a variety of cuisines including traditional English, Chinese, Indian, Thai, American and Italian. Restaurants include: Ask, Pizza Express, TGI Friday's, Frankie and Benny's, EAMAYL (Chinese Buffet), Noodle Bar, Wimpy, Pizza Hut, McDonalds, KFC, Subway, plus many more local pubs and cafes. BanksThere are many banks within the town of High Wycombe. Including: Natwest, Barclays, Abbey, HSBC, Halifax, The Yorkshire Bank etc. TransportTransport within High Wycombe has very strong links. There is a very large bus station operating routes throughout the country. High Wycombe has easy access to London via London Marylebone. The road links around the surroundiong areas of High Wycombe are very good with access off the M40. For students there is access to all three campuses via the free bus service, which runs regularly.
Careers serviceThe university offices a career advice service. This helps advice students abotu application forms, creating a C.V to gaining a job. Part-time jobsPart itme work can be picked up within the surrounding town of High Wycombe. There are many shops which require part time/seasonal work. The student union also advertises for part time bar staff and stewards to work evenings at the union. Student Ambassadors are also a key role at Bucks New University. This gives students the chance to work events such as open days as part of the university. Religous facilitiesBucks New University welcomes all faiths to the establishment. Providing a chaplaincy onsite whilst working alongside local organisations to provide spiritual support. SocialBars, pubs and clubsHigh Wycombe provides a social vibe for all students who study at the university. Of course there is the Union however there are obviously places within the town and neighbouring towns/cities. Many places offer student nights, so drinks and entry fee is cheaper than usual. The Student's Union within High Wycombe boasts a full week schedule ranging from school disco's to Club Tropicana night for the sport teams. Pure and Obsession bar/club are located in Frogmoor, High Wycombe alongside The litten tree, and Butlers. The Falcon, the good old local Wetherspoons, cheap drinks and cheap food for all is located in the town centre. A more upmarket establishment is The Glass House, offering live music on certain nights. The Antelope is a small, friendly pub which offers student nights. Neighbouring towns such as Watford and Beaconsfield offer more nightlife, minibuses can be arranged for a night out.
Sport teams will take place in games against regional universities for examle Varsity includes Bucks New University play against Reading. The student union offers a variety of social parties ranging from christmas, new year to the big end of term party the May Ball. </nowiki> Clubs and societiesThe University offers loads of societies, including: Ultimate Frisbee, Law Society, Poker Society, Christian Union Society, LGBT society, Fancy Dress Society and a Street dance society etc. Also if you want to set a society up you can just inform the student union and they will help you set it up. The university also offers a large number of sport clubs ranging from Rugby to American Football and for the girls, Cheerleading to Girl's Hockey.
AccommodationAccommodation policy A contract will be signed by both the accommodation service and the student moving into the accommodation to ensure all terms are agreed. FacilitiesAll kitchens are fitted with an oven, fridge/freezer, sink, television, dinning table and chairs along with an iron and ironing board. Onsite there are laundry services at a very cheap rate. Each bedroom is fitted with an internet connection link which can be accessed 24hours a day.
ResidencesSt Giles Residence: 130 Ensuite rooms and 200+ standard rooms. St Peters Residence: 308 rooms. Within High Wycombe: Brook Street Halls: 398 rooms and ten minutes walk from the uni. The Student Village which is currently being developed will provide more accommodation for the growing figures of the university. This will be a new accommodation block for all first year students providing en-suite facilities with social areas outside of students flats. With easy access to the High Wycombe town centre and campus, students will be able to socialise easily. == Private sector ==

The student Union offers a social area for students to meet in during the day or evening. There are different events which take place throughout the year to help students improve their social links within the university.
