AccommodationWhat are/were your halls like?Username: Prodable Date: 23/11/10 Comment: Halls at CCC can vary in quality but generally you get what you pay for here. I live in Lanfranc which is the most expensive but it's very pretty with a green and fairly impressive entrances (one known as "Harry Potter Door"). All rooms are ensuite and standard rooms are pretty large (much larger than the standard rooms at Pin Hill, Parham or Campus). The ensuites are wetrooms and so you could have a wet floor all day, but generally it's only you who uses it - unless you have friends round of course. Some flats/houses in Lanfranc have been renovated, the rest haven't. If your flat hasn't been renovated you could end up in a 7 person flat with 1 rather bad oven. There's always someone on duty and any trouble you have which really can be anything and will often have a laugh with you, although they can be uptight at night which is annoying if you want to celebrate or something. None of the flats have a washing machine but there is a 24 hour on site laundry. Despite only having 3 washing machines and 3 dryers you can usually get a machine with no problem - maybe students just don't wash clothes. Pin Hill is about 10/15 mins away from campus but 5 mins from town and the library. It is opposite Canterbury East station and because of this it is a slightly cheaper option but there's little noise. What there is noise from is Club Chemistry (formally Baabaas) which is 30 seconds away from Pin Hill. Convenient for a night out, not so much for a night in.
