SVC is one of the largest student-led volunteering organisations in the UK. With over 40 different projects, SVC makes a major contribution to the community in Cardiff. Projects include one-on-one befriending schemes with disabled young people and the elderly, educational tutoring projects, working in homeless shelters, taking young carers on day trips, environmental work on community farms, hospice care, mental health, children's recreational youth clubs etc. etc. and with projects requiring as little as a couple of hours a week on various days there really is something for all tastes and time constraints. Getting involved with SVC is a great way to meet new people, offers plenty of opportunities for leadership (chances to co-ordinate a project or even join the student exec committee) and looks great on your CV!!!
