CCAD offers university level programmes in a dedicated HE campus. In recent years prestigious historic buildings have been acquired and CCAD has expanded significantly and now boasts the Leadbitter, Archive and Municipal buildings as part of the impressive campus.
These locally well known buildings encapsulate the essence of being an Art College as they draw stark contrasts between old and new and put CCAD at the heart of Hartlepool's Cultural Quarter.
The College's higher education provision was reviewed by the higher education quality watchdogs, the QAA, in April 2006. The quality of teaching was commended, with the published report particularly praising the emphasis on 'live' projects and direct engagement with employers.
