LocationGoodricke is located near the centre of campus, across the bridge from Vanbrugh College and next to the Physics Department. It is also a short distance from the Psychology Department, Biology Department and Sports Centre DepartmentsGoodricke College is home to the Mathematics Department. The department takes up a large proportion of the upper floor of the main building with it's offices and reception. The lower level has some more offices as well as two small lecture rooms and half a dozen seminar/classrooms heavily used by the Maths Department. AccommodationGoodricke accommodation is not the best. It is often considered the worst on campus and has some of the smaller rooms on campus. Legend says one block has such narrow corridors that the walls are plain breeze-blocks has the plaster would make them too narrow for fire regulations. Social SpacesGardensDining roomBarGoodricke bar is the most 'pubby' feel to it of all bars on campus and is housed in a separate building only connected to the main college block by covered walk ways. JCRStudy rooms, lecture theaters and ComputingStudy RoomsLecture TheatresGoodricke has two medium sized lecture rooms. They are more like large classrooms and set on one level. Anyone in the uni can use them, but seeing as the maths department is situated in the same college they are the ones most likely to be in them for the smaller groups in 3rd and 4th year modules. Computer SuiteGoodricke has two computer rooms. The smaller downstairs room will be freely available at all times. The larger room upstairs is also used as a classroom and at times may have lessons going on in there. Its size often means there will be free computers available if a lesson is going on, but it's at the discretion of the teacher whether people are allowed in or not. WelfareAtmosphereOther FacilitiesOpposite the bar is a studio, which is used by clubs and societies such as Aerobics and Pole Exercise. It has curtains so that everyone walking past doesn't have to see what's going on inside! Student-eye view |
