Location

Goodricke was the first college to move to the new Heslington East campus so it is no long in the centre of the main campus. It is now located a short (about 10 minutes) walk from main campus, down field lane until you hit the yellow brick road (it's actually yellow asphalt), walk down that for about 10 minutes and you'll be at Goodricke college.

Departments

The OLD Goodricke College building is home to the Mathematics Department. The department takes up a large proportion of the upper floor of the main building with it's offices and reception. The lower level has some more offices as well as two small lecture rooms and half a dozen seminar/classrooms heavily used by the Maths Department.

Accommodation

Goodricke currently advertises the best accommodation in the university due to it's new build status. It is divided into 3 blocks - Janet Baker (the biggest and painted pink), Oliver Sheldon (The smallest and painted russet) and Kenneth Dixon (the 'quiet block' which is painted yellow). The blocks have either 12 person flats or 6 person flats. With some houses for people with families. The 12 person flats have very large kitchens and en-suite rooms. The 6 person flats share 2 bathrooms and have a very good sized kitchen (unlike most other colleges).

Bar

Unfortunately as of yet there is no college pub on Heslington East for the Goodricke students but we 'share' McQ's on campus.

JCR

Here is one of Goodricke's gems - the JCR hosts an Xbox 360, Wii (games are available from the porters along with the controls) along with large tv and dvd players. Along with table tennis board and two arcade games. The JCR is host to weekly film nights and termly bar-less quizes where you BYOB.
