What is ABN Amro?

ABN Amro (a part of the ABN Amro group) is a banking chain with a worldwide presence, with representatives in every continent. The company is currently undergoing a period of transition after the Dutch state became a major shareholder in the company, having purchased the Fortis Banking group, who were part of a consortium who bought the ABN group. ABN Amro bank deals with personal and private banking, including loans, mortgages and credit cards; business and commercial banking for small and larger independent businesses looking to establish themselves in large-scale trading; and corporate and institutional banking for governments and financial institutions.
