Entry requirements and type of person suited for Boots.

Retail Management - a Business or Retail related degree would be ideal, but there are no exclusions. Any university graduate with at least Grade C English and Maths at GCSE will be considered. Leadership, communication, determination and team work are essential skills for this role.

Brand, Buying and Marketing - Graduates with a 2:1 or above in any discipline plus at least grade C at GCSE English and Maths can aply for this role. Strong numerical proficiency and leadership skills are vital. Innovation, creativity, positive thinking and team working skills are also high on the agenda for graduates considering applying to this scheme

Future prospects and training at Boots.

Completion of the Retail Management scheme will see graduates manage their own store in just 52 weeks. Training involves in store placements in four key areas of business, equipping graduates with knowledge they need to perform the management role effectively, while improving their team work, communication and leadership abilities. In addition, graduates can expect one on one coaching sessions, as well as taking part in targetted training and community projects, as well as challenge sessions against other graduates.

Training for the Brand, Buying and Marketing scheme involves hands on experience at the Boots support offices, as well as store placements. Graduates will attend workshops, projects and events, as well as liasing with a manager and mentor, to prepare them for the challenge of the role. Completion of the Brand, Buying and Marketing scheme will put graduates in a position to develop and dictate the products that Boots' customers will be purchasing, giving them an important and creative role.
