What is Microsoft?

Microsoft is possibly the biggest name in worldwide computer technology. It provides a whole host of technological services, computer programmes, internet and other related products to a large consumer base across the globe. Microsoft's mission is 'to enable people and businesses throughout the world to realise their full potential' and its employees work hard to provide excellent service to all those who need it. Graduates looking to join Microsoft will become part of a company that has excellent standards and potential.

Microsoft welcomes applications from graduates with a 2:1 or higher in any relevant discipline. Good interpersonal skills and a clear overriding passion for technology are essential.

Future prospects and training at Microsoft.

The MACH programme (Microsoft Academy for College Hires) runs for two years and is designed to act as a stepping stone between education and te working world. Graduates will be placed in roles of real responsibility, while offering support and reviews to help make the transition as smooth as possible. Graduates will have the opportunity to network with graduates from around the globe and will be mentored by an experienced senior along the way. The first year aims to improve graduates' personal and professional skills, while he second gives greater opportunity for spreading out into the area of the company they wish to work in. Microsoft offers a number of international opportunities, plus some compulsory placements in the US. There is no certain career path for graduates who complete the programme, but there is potential for graduates to guide their career in the direction they want.
