London Metropolitan University formed in 2002 when London Guildhall University and the University of North London merged. The University now has two main campuses, one in the City and the other in Islington on Holloway Road - both are very central in London. London Met is quite literally huge - with over 30,000 students - it is one of the biggest universities in the UK. London Met has more international students than almost any other UK University including over 190 different nationalities, making for a truly cosmopolitan environment. Academic ReputationLondon Metropolitan University chooses not to appear in the privately-organised university league table as the institution believes that the British Government should be the formal assessor the universities, rather than private newspapers' tables, e.g. the Guardian and the Times. The quality higher-education teaching here at the LMU is assessed through the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), and in the most recent Institutional Audit, the QAA have culminated that they had "broad confidence" in the soundness of the LMU's management of the quality of its academic programmes and the academic standards of its awards. Being polite, food from the canteen is not of the best quality. BanksTransportBuses run past the Holloway based camps regularly, such as the 43. There is also a tube station right outside the university - Holloway road - on the Piccadilly line. Careers servicePart-time jobsThere are many jobs available off campus, not so much on campus.
