Aberdeen

AAAAB in a single sitting, Chemistry plus two of Biology/Human Biology, Mathematics and Physics.

The normal expectation for applicants who are one grade down, would be that they offer one new H at A, plus two AH at BB, or two new Hs at AA plus one AH at B. Alternative studies could be three AH at ABB, when Chemistry would be required with one from Biology, Mathematics or Physics plus one other subject.

Bart's and the London AB at Advanced Higher and AAA at three further Highers. Chemistry and Biology required, one at Advanced Higher.

Birmingham AAAAA at higher and AAA in 3 Advanced Highers including Chemistry and Biology.

Bristol

BSMS You will normally need either three Advanced Highers or two Advanced Highers plus two Highers. You must have studied both Biology and Chemistry at Higher level and at least one of these subjects to Advanced Higher level.

Most standard offers are now conditional on gaining 340 UCAS points from 18 units. Either Biology or Chemistry should be passed with an A grade.

Cambridge 3 Advanced highers or 2 Advanced highers and further highers in 6th year. Offer would be at the level of AAB-AAA

Cardiff AAAAB grades in Scottish Highers, including Chemistry, Physics, Biology and English Language plus two subjects at Advanced Higher level with AA grades (including Chemistry).

Dundee AAABB including Chemistry and another Science plus Standard Grade/Intermediate 2 Biology.

Durham AAAAA at Higher Grade including Chemistry and/or Biology. Minimum of five passes at grade 2 Standard Grade (or Intermediate 2) required.

Edinburgh AAAAB at one sitting normally in S5 to include Chemistry and two of Biology, Mathematics or Physics. Students unable to take missing sciences in S5 may take the missing subject(s) in S6. Human Biology may replace Biology. For some applicants this subject combination at S5 Higher is neither possible nor appropriate and we will accept Higher Biology taken in S6. Standard Grades: Standard Grade Credit (or equivalent) in Biology, Chemistry, English, Mathematics. SQA Advanced Highers: We encourage the study of at least two subjects at AH level in S6. The subjects of greatest relevance to a medical programme are Chemistry and Biology.

Glasgow Highers: AAAAB at first sitting although sometimes AAABB is accepted (UKCAT is most important in achieving interview). 6th year: BCC in AH or BB in AH and C in another higher. Conditions higher if AAABB was achieved at higher.

HYMS AAABB at Higher level (H) including Biology and Chemistry taken in a single attempt, plus grades AAB at Advanced Higher to include Biology and Chemistry.

Imperial Candidates must offer: five Scottish Highers (or GCSEs) at grades AAABB in any order, in biology, chemistry, physics, maths, and English language. Candidates must offer grades at AAA in Advanced Highers or A levels in three of the subjects offered at Scottish Highers, and including chemistry and biology.

Keele Three subjects at Advanced Higher Level. A pass in English, and in Mathematics or a science subject at Standard grade or above. Please note that some courses specify a pass in Mathematics.

Kings AA at Advanced Highers and ABB at three further Highers. Chemistry and Biology required, one at Advanced Highers

Leeds AAAAB at Higher including Biology, and BB at Advanced Higher, one of which must be Chemistry

Leicester AAB at Advanced higher to include Chemistry and Biology. Scottish Highers are not considered.

Liverpool AAABB-AAAAA plus Biology (A) and Chemistry (A) at Advanced Higher

Manchester Three Advanced Highers including Chemistry, one other subject from Mathematics, Biology or Physics, plus one other academic subject. Grades AAB required with minimum Grade A in Chemistry OR Two Advanced Highers plus one new Higher (subjects to include Chemistry at Advanced Higher), plus one new Higher, and a further subject. Grades AAA required

Newcastle AAAAA at Higher Grade including Chemistry and/or Biology. Minimum of five passes at grade 2 Standard Grade (or Intermediate 2) required.

Nottingham Offers will be made based on Advanced Highers taken in Biology, Chemistry and a third subject and passed AAB in that order. At GCSE equivalent - 6 grade A's including the three sciences.

Oxford Advanced Highers: AA (AH in Chemistry) and AAAAA in Highers. Highers must include Biology or Mathematics or Physics.

Candidates are required to have an Advanced Higher in Chemistry and 5 Grade A Highers. These must include a Higher in Biology or Mathematics or Physics. If you don’t have Mathematics, Biology and Physics at Higher Level you must have Intermediate 2 or standard grade (Credit) in these subjects.

Peninsula Students are required to achieve grades of ABB at Advanced Higher level, which must include a grade A in a science subject and a grade B or above in a fourth subject at Higher level. Students offering a mix of Advanced Higher and/or Higher level subjects only are advised to contact the Peninsula Medical School for further advice. This offer is not necessarily the threshold for selection for interview, which may vary depending on the number of applications received by the School.

Sheffield AAAAB + AB Advanced Highers in science subjects including Chemistry

Southamptom Applicants offering Scottish qualifications are required to offer five subjects at grades AAAAB in the Higher examination, including chemistry, together with A and B passes in chemistry and one other subject in Advanced Highers.

St Andrews AAAAB (at Higher) including Chemistry (A grade) and one other of Biology, Mathematics or Physics. These grades should normally be obtained at the same sitting. If Mathematics or Biology have not been passed at Higher Grade, each must normally have been passed at Standard Grade Credit Level (grade 1 or 2) or Intermediate 2 (grade A or B). A pass must also be offered in Standard Grade English at Credit Level (grade 1 or 2) or Intermediate 2 (grade A or B). In 6th year, Advanced Higher Chemistry and Biology would be welcomed.

St George's St George’s does not accept Scottish Highers alone for entry to medicine. Candidates should AAAAB at Higher level (in one sitting) and these should include Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English. In addition, we ask for three Advanced Highers. Candidates must offer Chemistry and Biology plus one other subject at Advanced Higher and achieve or be predicted AAB at the first attempt.

UCL AAB at Advanced higher. Comvbinations of highers and advanced highers are not accepted.

UEA Highers - AAAAB to include Biology

Advanced Highers - AAB to include Biology , plus a minimum of a grade B in a fourth Highers subject.
