FacilitiesLibrariesIT and computingThe College’s web based Managed Learning Environment (Emily) plays a pivotal role in the support of teaching and learning within the College. It is the central hub to all Electronic Resources, including but not limited to:- •Learning materials such as lecture notes •Editable group work space (wiki’s) •Online assessment systems •3D Human Anatomy models •E Journals & Online Library access •An Electronic Logbook •Email Staff and student communication across the College is enhanced in lectures by using telematics technology, which can link all the College's sites together. These lectures are then recorded and made available through Emily for further study and revision. SportsBoth the Universities of Exeter and Plymouth have a great reputation for sport and both compete in the British Universities Sports Association Championships (BUSA). BUSA is an organisation which provides the opportunity for competitive sport with other universities. Exeter is consistently ranked in the top ten of the BUSA championships. Although competition is important, club activities tend to be of a social as well as an athletic nature and clubs welcome everyone from complete beginners through to an advanced standard. In Plymouth you will find a huge variety of sports opportunities. Given the location, water-based activities are extremely popular and well represented. There are facilities and support for a wide range of other sports and recreational interests. These include three squash courts and a recently refurbished fitness complex. There is also a sports hall with a five-hole golf course on the edge of the city. The University of Plymouth is unique in having its own Diving and Sailing Centre. Set in a prime waterfront location, it is a British Sub Aqua Club Dive School and a Royal Yachting Association approved teaching centre with a wide range of watersports courses. Plymouth also boasts student national champions in sailing, surfing, gymnastics, water-skiing, skydiving and volleyball. £8 million has been invested in sports facilities by the University of Exeter including new indoor tennis facilities. A sports scholarship scheme offers generous financial and sports science support to students with outstanding sporting ability and evidence of national potential.
