Chemical Engineering Personal Statement

I have strong interest in science and big ambition in my major

Being a daughter of an engineer, my interest in science was cultivated from an early age. My patents inculcated knowledge to me. Thanks for them, I have got a strong interest in science. What Comprised the world? Why they are looked different each other? Are there any relations between them? So many times, I marveled at the power of the power of science and its ingenious application to technology

It was not only being good at chemistry but a party helped me made my final decision to major chemistry. In that party, a classmate of my mother, president of a textile factory told me that all their synthetic fibre were imported, since in our country no factory can produce them. This really shocked me ! At that moment, I decided that I would select chemistry but not others as my major

My ability in studying, full-development, and communication can best account for the prizes I have awarded

I got the top 1% GPA during the first year in university. My GPA was consistently rank in the top 5% in my department for the following years. Furthermore, as recognition of my academic achievement, I was awardedPrize scholarship every year (5% students every year). And I know to be a excellent scientist good GPA is not enough,. So not only this, I pay much attention to fully development myself . So because of good at studying, constitution and get well with teachers and students,I won the Three Good Student Prize (3% students every year in my university). And in the second term, I was elected the president of amusement department of Student's Association. I was awarded of theprize for my outstanding ability of leader. And this year, I finished my University studying as an "Outstanding Graduate"(3% graduate every year )

A successful scientist is firstly a successful researcher. In view of this, I have particularly noticed to develop my own ability of independent learning and research in my past year studying

From 1997 to 1998, during the courses on the fundamentals of chemistry, I have accumulated hands-on experience of adjusting and operating experimental equipments, acquiring and analyzing data, constructing apparatus. It is exhilarating to find out how the mysteries of the world ate explained by several simple laws and how the most abstract theories lead to improvement in our daily life. But After acquiring the necessary information, I found it is important to turn those concrete into abstract conclusions. In order to get it, I have studied in an arduous way, always trying to grasp the essence of theories and the methodology hiding inside textbooks. Now, what I could take advantage of as a science student are the strict training in abstract thinking, logical education, scrupulous experimental operation and analyzing problems both qualitatively and quantitatively

A precious aspect of my undergraduate education is my research experience

In 1999 I entered the chemistry Engineering Lab when I was a Junior

My job there is to make a multiply case to assistant professor's teaching and research. During this course, I got familiar with standard electronics facilities and mastered many kinds of software such as AutoCAD, Excel, Origin, Powerpoint, Deamwaver and so on. And I was good at retrieval of Chemical Literatures and arrangement of chemistry document. For this work, I read a lot on Chemical Engineering, and that made me clear and clear, where to devote my intellect and energy, where to find my happiness and success in the future

And then ,in 2000,I entered the Membrane Lab .The project of this Lab is researching the anti-pollution membrane. This is really a practical and challenge work. Because only in the initial level, we need do a large amount of experiments again and again for founding a better method. We often work day in and day out. As a team member, I realize the value of co-operation, as well as the importance of individual responsibility in a project-oriented group

Now, I am in desperate need of graduate education

Though my knowledge and experience gained with years, in the course of study and research, unsolvable problems would come up whenever I went beyond my textbook. At times, so much tentative ideas came into my mind, but I just couldn't reach them all because of inadequate knowledge and skills of myself and what's more-the lack of equipment

To obtain these, I need systematic training at a more advanced level badly. And I found that lots projects which are just at the initial level in my country have already reached an advanced one in yours. I wish to be embraced in the professional environment you provided to set out on the path toward my life-long career, to be a productive and original research or professor. So I'm eager to further my study in your university

My prospects in The University Of Southern Denmark is ideal for my further development. It provides the best environment for graduate education, including competitive and inspiring academic atmosphere, active and fruitful research, access to first-class facilities, and close interaction between students and its distinguished faculty

I realize that admission into your university is highly competitive

But considered myself highly qualified and prepared any challenges for me, and I will undoubtedly get ready for. I would very happy if be accepted. Thank you for taking my application into consideration

Looking forward to hearing from you.
