Personal Statement

In my last two years at Priesthorpe school my favourite and most successful subjects have been I.T, History, Maths and English. I have particularly enjoyed doing I.T because in our class we do all sorts of things like presentations, using PowerPoint and analyses using the Excel spreadsheets. The work in I.T is really easy and there is no difficulty doing it. I have also found English particularly interesting because I got good grades for the essays, comprehension and the stories

In addition to gaining knowledge in these subjects. I have also learned many new skills, which will be very useful to me in the future. Word Processing: - I am a really good and a fast typer and I know how to use computers really well. Communication Skills: - I communicate with people really well and I am good at working together

Problem Solving: - I am really good in maths and I am really good in solving problems quickly. The practical of application of these skills is recorded elsewhere in this document

During my second year at Priesthorpe School I was involved at a residential trip with my tutor group. I took part in a variety of activities. I used to play football with the teachers. I shared rooms with my friends and played baseball or cricket with them. I went swimming and bowling in the morning and in evening time we went to the cinema. On residential we all worked together and when someone needed help we helped him or her. On the last day before we came back we did a play on a song. We had to work in a group of three. Working together was a really good fun. We all had lots of fun and we found residential a useful experience of working together

In year10 I did a course at Green Flag. The work I did was to fix the car tyres and we had to fill in a sheet. The course was really hard at first because I did not know anything about cars. I found I was good at working on the computers because on the Internet they told all about cars and that made the course a bit easier for me. I was also good at helping the people who did not know what to do. The things I learned by doing work experience is that it is very hard and you have to do lots of work

My other achievements, both in and out of the school, have been in sport. The sports I like are cricket and football. I have received certificates in cricket for being a good captain for my club, the name of the club is Wind Hill Cricket Club. For relaxation, in my leisure time I enjoy being a member of a Cricket Club. I like to be a member because in cricket you stay fit, cricket does not make you lazy and it also helps you to do more hard work

During my years at Priesthorpe School, I have also developed as a person. I am now much more tolerant, hard working, mature, responsible and aware of my strengths. I intend to stay on in the 6th Form and study A Levels. The subjects I hope to study are English Language, Maths, Physics and Business Studies. My full career aims are recorded in my Career Action Plan, included in my NRA

My short-term targets are to do well in my examination and to get into Sixth Form in the future.
