About RavensbourneProspectus is available online from here: - Prospectus avail: http://www.rave.ac.uk/pdf/Ravensbourne_Prospectus_2010-11.pdf Relocation to the Greenwich PeninsulaRavensbourne has relocated to Greenwich Peninsula, to an brand new and innovative £70m building with impressive aesthetics. It looks stunning and suggests a unique and exciting space. It doesn't just look great from the outside - what goes on inside is more important. The people who use it leave their mark on it – you will bring it to life. It will be full of the noises and mess of innovation, the chaos and clamour of creativity. It will be messy and unstructured, fluid and unpredictable. It will brim over with stories. That’s when we will really understand what this building is about. So this is not just a story about a new office block. We talk about creating a new institution for a new building. What does this actually mean? Here you’ll be able to find out more about what this new institution of ours will actually look like, sound like and feel like. We will answer your questions on any aspect of the move; share the latest plans and drawings; review progress; explain findings from internal consultations, and much more. We’ll also provide links to live discussions about our transformation and relocation on Facebook, our community forum and other discussion sites that are being used. Further information can be found here on our relocation pages: http://intranet.rave.ac.uk/relocation/ and http://www.rave.ac.uk/about.php?id=4. CoursesBroadcast OperationsReview from a current student: "The quality of teaching on this course is second to none. With full-time, dedicated tutors who have spent most of their working lives in the Television industry, their knowledge is worth more than gold. The delivery of the course could do with some improvements, there are units that I still fail to see the relevance of. But this is a matter of the degree structure that is decided by the institution as a whole - the units that are directly related to broadcasting are taught and designed so well that I have learnt a mind-blowing amount in only my first term. With visiting lecturers and tutors from the industry sharing their wisdom and advice the opportunity for networking and gaining work experience is made to be nearly effortless. However, do not think that this is an easy course! Hard-work and keeping up with the technical information is a must. If you are passionate about broadcasting then you will love every second of Broadcast Operations, as I do." PhotographyRavensbourne is unique in offering a wholly digital, commercially focused and industry led degree in photography - BA (Hons) Digital Photography. The course is delivered by practising industry professionals and equips students with the skills needed to strike out as a freelance or to gain a job in the profession upon graduation. The student run course website can be found at Ravensbourne Digital Photography SocialThe Student Union (SU) is elected democratically by the student body each year and is here to represent the voice of the students at the College. The SU organises student entertainment both on campus in the relaxed, intimate and laid back atmosphere of the Ravensbourne Bar, and in the heart of Bromley. The SU also runs a number of clubs and societies, providing students with the opportunity to interact and socialise away from the rigours of study. If there is not an existing club or society that captures your interest then the Union welcomes contributions and ideas to broaden the range of clubs and activities on offer. The SU encourages all students to get involved with the SU organisation and its ongoing activities to help promote a community spirit and friendly social atmosphere at the College.
