MethodMake diagonal cuts three quarters of the way through the French loaf. Mix the butter, garlic, parsley, and salt and pepper to taste until thoroughly mixed. Spread between slices and any remaining butter over the top. Wrap in foil and bake in a hot oven, 200°C, 400°F, Gas Mark 6, for 10 minutes. Take off foil and cook for a further 5 to 10 minutes, until crisp. cut through each slice and serve hot.
