Recipe - Wraps

TSR Wiki > Life > Food and Drink > TSR Recipe Book > Recipe - Wraps

I wrote these out for a friend of mine who had no time to actually cook, and rather wanted to "assemble" some food which was quick and tasty. I came up with some wraps.

All of the following you can get at the local convenience store to assemble at home. There is no cooking required and minimal washing up.

Ingredients

  • Tortilla wraps
  • Salady things
  • Wet stuff, e.g. Dressing, relish, chutney, pesto
  • Sandwich meat, cold roast meat, sliced hamm salami
  • Cheese
  • Seasoning

Method

A general layering rule I like to use is wrap, wet stuff, dryer stuff, meat, cheese/more dry stuff, wet stuff, season.

  1. First, catch your wrap.
  2. Then using the back of a spoon, spread the "wet stuff" over the wrap. This acts as a glue to secure the salady stuff to the wrap and means it gets through the whole of the wrap.
  3. Then add your salad, but not too much! Less is more and if you put too much in, you will end up with an unfoldable wrap.
  4. Then add the meat. If you add this in a line down the middle of the wrap, then you will find it easier to roll up.
  5. Next, add the cheese or the extra drizzle of wet stuff. Or both. I like both.
  6. Season. Then wrap.
  7. You can wrap these like a tortilla, i.e. fold the bottom up and then the sides, OR you can roll it like a swiss roll. Either way is fine. If you want to eat these later, wrap them in clingfilm.

Comments

These are some suggested combinations:

  • Tortilla Wrap
  • Sliced cold roast lamb (from the packed cooked meat section in supermarket)

Spread tblsp of tzaziki on wrap, then add lettuce and chopped tomatoes. Add seasoning and eat

Spicy Chicken

  • Tortilla wrap
  • Cooked chicken pieces
  • Sweet chilli sauce
  • Grated carrot
  • Mustard/Cress

Spread tblsp sweet chilli sauce on wrap, then add cress, carrot and chicken. Season and wrap

Moroccan Chicken

  • Tortilla wrap
  • Cooked Chicken Pieces
  • Hummous
  • Couscous
  • Peppers, sliced up

Spread tblsp hummous on wrap, then add couscous and peppers, then chicken. Season and wrap.

Cheaty Pizza

  • Tortilla Wrap
  • Bean sprouts
  • Tomatoes, chopped
  • Lean Ham, shredded
  • Basil, oregano, majoram or any other herbs, pesto
  • Mozarella balls, torn

Spread bean sprouts on wrap, then add tomatoes, ham shreds, basil/pesto and torn mozzarella balls. Season and wrap

Tandoori stylie

  • Tandoori style cooked chicken
  • Tblsp Yoghurt mixed with a touch of lemon juice
  • Lettuce, peppers, spring onions
  • Mango chutney (if you like)

Spread yoghurt mix on wrap, then add lettuce, peppers, spring onions and chicken. Drizzle mango chutnety. Season and wrap
