Revision:Conclusions

From The Student Room

TSR Wiki > Study Help > Subjects and Revision > Revision Notes > Geography > Conclusions

  • Difficulty of placing value judgements on urban space and urban change
  • Archaeology important for looking at change of urban space and to some extent economic factors. Ideological changes require complementary written sources. Difficult to examine ideology from archaeology alone.
  • Difficult to separate economic and ideological factors – economic decline may show dereliction, but ideological factors may prove otherwise. Why do Roman settlements shrink and form behind major walls? Partly economic decline, location of walls around church – thus we see ideology and economic factors combining.
