ElementPure substances, made up of atoms with the same number of protons.
MixturesMixture of pure substances. Mixtures have the properties of the different substances that make it up. Melt at a range of temperatures and are easy to separate.
CompoundsPure substances made up more more than 1 compound which have been joined together by a chemical reaction therefore the atoms are difficult to separate. The properties of a compound are different from the atoms that make it up.
