Self Catered Accommodation

There are three areas of self catered accommodation, these include:

- City and Central

- Endcliffe Village

- Ranmoor Village

City and Central Accommodation

Broad Lane Court

Very near to the main University site and to the city centre. Contains flats of 5 to 7 people.

Brocco Flats

Situated on Edward Street, it is very close to the University and City Centre. All bedrooms are en-suite.

Opal One

Situated next to Devonshire Courtyard and a 5 minute walk to the union, Opal one is modern (opened in 2006) with 4 to 7 bedroomed flats and studios, all ensuite. Nice courtyard in the middle, common room. All bills included except internet and tv license.

Opal Two

Similar to Opal One but nearer to the University being situated on St George's Close. It also has a gym and swimming pool, which Opal One doesn't but this comes at an extra price. All bedrooms are en-suite and it contains a large kitchen/living room that includes a good sized dining table. A TV comes with the accommodation as well.

Victoria Halls

Located on Eldon Street (Just off West Street, and adjacent to the Devonshire Green) - Victoria Halls is located a short walk from the union, and is a stones throw away from West Street's many bars and pubs ...

Victoria Halls has room for 499 students and flats are available with 3, 4 or 5 bedrooms. The majority have four bedrooms, with one deluxe room and three singles...

Bills are not included, and various internet packages are available - which increase in cost depending on the speed you require. All flats are en-suite, and living rooms feature TV's with Sky TV (including movies). Recently some blocks have had kitchen upgrades, receiving breakfast bars and stools where previously just a wall separated the kitchen and living room ...

Endcliffe Village

Endcliffe Village contains a number of self catered buldings, many of these are brand new for 2007 and 2008 but there are also some older buildings which include Crescent flats, Endcliffe Vale flats and Crewe flats. Catering all these flats and the catered accommodation is The Edge, which includes a Bar, Cafe, Dining Room, Computer Room and Laundrette.

New Ensuite Self Catered flats

The new ensuite self catered flats include brand new ensuite accommodation that was built in either 2007 or for 2008. These include Birchen, Burbage, Cratcliffe, Derwent, Froggart, Howden, Millstone, Lawrencefield, Stanage and Yarncliffe. These are all essentially the same in structure but contain different numbers of students. For example, all blocks are ensuite rooms with a communal kitchen and living room, which contains a kettle, toaster, microwave, oven and hob. The iron and ironing board are also included. But the number of rooms in each block is different and whether you have a single or double room, one or two microwaves, a breakfast bar or dining table depends on where you live and how many people you live with.

The number of people in each flat varies from 3 to 12 people per flat. Flats with 3 people in are the double rooms in Cratcliffe, which are larger than standard rooms and contain a very large bathroom. Typically the flats with two microwaves, ovens, hobs etc are the ones containing 8 or more people and these also have a dining table whereas flats with 6 or less people will contain a breakfast bar and the appropriate number of stools.

Crescent Flats

These contain 4 to 6 people per flat and are situated on Endcliffe Crescent.

Crewe Flats

Situated on Clarkehouse Road.

Endcliffe Vale Flats

Non en-suite flats containing 8 or 9 people per flat. It is situated on Endcliffe Vale Road.

Ranmoor Village

Completed in 2009 and essentially identical to newer flats of Endciffe Village. They include Laddow, Kinder, Windgather, Wimberry, Ravenstones and Ramshaw.
