Formerly Swansea Institute of Higher Education, Swansea Metropolitan is one of the newest Universities in the UK having officially become a university in January 2008. It's split across two campuses, though both are located in the city of Swansea in Wales. Looking at the number of students, SMU is quite small with a just over 5,700 students in total and about 4,500 undergraduates.
