Accommodation Policy

All first year students are guaranteed accommodation. In previous years, students already in halls of residence have been given first chance to apply for accommodation in the following year. This year all returning students cannot come back to University of Aberdeen accommodation.
All rooms are cleaned every 2 weeks.
Please check with the university whether or not your chosen halls of residence have wheelchair access. Some do, but not all.
A utility charge of between £200-£300 (depending on residence) is charged at the beginning of every year. This will cover you for unlimited water, electricity and heating during the year.
Deposits are around £200 and are refunded after leaving university accommodation (or retained as next year's deposit if you plan to stay).
Depending on accommodation chosen, contracts are for either 36, 38 or 48 weeks. Summer accommodation is available for all students in the UK who are here for holidays, summer school, work placements, etc.
Please check with the university if you would like a land line telephone in your room. Not all residences have this facility.
Wireless internet access is free of charge and available in all halls of residence.
