The University of Bedfordshire is the largest higher education institution in the county, providing excellent opportunities for more people to access top quality higher education. Libraries

Access to quality learning resources and information technology is an essential part of your university experience and at the Luton campus this is given a high priority. Built in 1997, our £8 million Learning Resources Centre offers a modern learning environment with over three hundred networked PCs within a traditional university library service. Luton is home to one of the UK’s leading covered shopping centres – The Mall - which is bursting with over 120 shops ranging from high street favourites to smaller specialist shops. Bedford grew up around a traditional open-air market which still exists today on Wednesdays to Saturdays in St Paul's Square and along the river. The town also has all the popular high street stores alongside specialist shops and boutiques.

Accommodation

Official University accommodation is a great way to start your new life away from home. The Student Village, University of Bedfordshire at the Luton campus comprises nine halls of residence. This includes Fitzroy Court, our brand-new, en-suite accommodation. We have invested £20m in a new student accommodation complex 'Liberty Living' containing over 500 residences at our Bedford campus. Liberty Living is on campus which gives you easy access to all campus facilities.

There are many benefits of living in Halls including:

  • Free Personal Contents Insurance.
  • Safe and secure accommodation with 24-hour security surveillance.
  • Hall wardens to deal with any concerns and organise exciting social events.
  • Unlimited broadband access for a small fee.
  • Your weekly rent will depend on which Hall you choose but all of our accommodation is inclusive of bills. Your reasonable rent pays for:
    • All utility costs (gas, electricity, heating and water)
    • Security patrols and any call-outs
    • Weekly cleaning of common areas both inside and outside flats
    • On-call Hall Manager for emergencies 365 days a year
  • We offer purpose built accommodation to all our first-year undergraduate students at Bedford campus and Luton campus.
