The University of West London became a university in 1992 having previously been the Polytechnic of West London. There are two sites - Ealing and Brentford and the University offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate education. We also have a hub in Berkshire, where our nursing students study.
The University offers courses in the following subject areas:

Facilities
Libraries
As well as an extensive stock of specialist books and journals, the libraries provide fully-networked open accesswork stations, scanners, colour printers, DVD, CD, video and audio playback facilities, full internet and subject-specific databases, all housed in a combination of open and personal study areas.
There are libraries of each of our sites, some specialising in particular subject areas. Each library is staffed with resource assistants who can help you make the most of the resources available. We also have subject specialist librarians who can help with more detalied queries.
IT and Computing
IT facilities are found in the libraries as mentioned above.
Sports
From football to aerobics, from cheerleading to photography - you can enjoy many different univeristy sports and societies here in West London. You can choose from a wide variety of sports, recreation and student-run societies in teh University. New sports and societies spring up each year - you might even like to start one yourself. Either way, you're free to join any of the sports and societies, at any time.
Welfare
Support is offered to all current students by the university if they need it. UWL also has a student mentoring scheme. The student mentors can offer a huge amount of support including one-to-one councilling, help with presenting and they are also involved in the running of drop in clinics for advice.
Healthcare
All students are advised to register with your local GP. The local Ealing GP practices work closely with University of West London. There are a team of doctors practising at two sites in Ealing. One located at Florence Road and one at Bramley Road.
Shops
There are shops available on the campuses for students to use as well as some of the halls of residence having a shop. The campuses is also in a thriving shopping areas so students will hopefully be able to find everything that they need either on or off campus.

Restaurants
There are facilities for you to eat available on both each sites which provides breakfast, lunch and dinner and a huge range of hot and cold food. The Ealing site also has a student run restaurant called Feast.
Banks
There are branches of all major banks in Ealing Broadway. There is also a cash machine available in our Students Union.
Transport
West London has excellent transport links. Our main campus is close to Heathrow Airport and is served by fast rail links and there is are excellent local bus services. The West London campus is 30 minutes away from London on the Underground or 10 minutes by fast train to Paddington, with its huge range of thetares, cinemas and other entertainments. The University also runs a free shuttle site between the two sites on the West London campus and Ealing Broadway station.
Careers service
The Careers and Employment Service Team are on hand to help you prepare and plan for life after your studies. The Team offer comprehensive and expert advice to help you plan and manage your career including advice and guidance on a wide range of careers issues, including career planning, job hunting and assessment and selection techniques. There are also careers workshops on topics such as CV preparation, interviews and job search.
Part-time jobs
As the University is based in a busy area with many opportunities for part-time employment. The university careers department will also help with finding local part time employment for students.
Religious facilities
The University of West London has a chaplaincy which provides a place for people of all faith groups to go and seek religious and spiritual guidance. You are also able to use this place to meet with other students to pray or meditate.
