TSR Wiki > University > Student Life > Travel and Getting Around > Unizone

Students commuting to Brighton or Worthing from certain stations can gain a discount on a season ticket (called Unizone) to Brighton and Worthing from certain stations listed below. Whilst I cannot confirm the discount, it can be gained by going to a staffed station in this area and showing your valid NUS Identity Card. The season ticket must be 7 days, 1 month or 3 months in length.

This discount is only valid on Southern train services (penalty fares will probably apply when used on other train companies trains).

For the Brighton area the stations where the discounted season ticket can be used between are

  • Brighton
  • Preston Park
  • London Road (Brighton)
  • Moulsecomb
  • Falmer – which is where most of the University of Sussex campus is located
  • Hove
  • Aldrington
  • Portslade
  • Fishersgate
  • Southwick
  • Shoreham-by-Sea
  • Lancing

For Worthing area the stations where the discounted season ticket can be used between are

  • Worthing
  • West Worthing
  • Durrington-on-sea
  • Goring-by-Sea
  • Angmering
  • Ford
  • Littlehampton
  • Barnham
  • Bognor Regis
  • Chichester
  • East Worthing
  • Lancing
  • Shoreham-by-Sea

There is no mention on time limits in the fares manual or on the website, so there is a possibility it could be used by students living in around Sussex commuting to work during the summer (but I never gave you that idea).
