• Personal statement help

Welcome to the TSR Personal Statement Help Service
Submit your personal statement:
Submit your UCAS personal statement draft here to be reviewed and critiqued by our team with collective experience of over 17,000 statement reviews. This is a free service, and all of our helpers have been verified as university students or graduates so that your statement is safe from plagiarism.

What we offer:
  • We try to provide at least one detailed review of your UCAS personal statement. You can find example reviews here.
  • Where possible, we try to provide reviewers in either your subject or a similar one for subject-specific guidance.
  • We aim to provide a response in 3 to 7 days, but this will vary depending on the subject and the time of year. Please note that it can take longer than this at busy times, so we therefore strongly recommend that you submit your statement to us as early as possible, preferably at least two weeks before the deadline. We reserve the right to close PS Help to certain subjects in advance of the deadline if we would be unable to review them in time - these will be noted on this page.
  • We can sometimes help with further drafts of your statement, but these should be appended to your earlier drafts and will depend on the availability of helpers.

Before you submit your statement...
Please note the following:
  • We provide help for UCAS personal statements for undergraduate entry into UK universities and are unable to help with personal statements for non-UCAS postgraduate courses, sixth forms, summer schools, and institutions in other countries.
  • We only review complete drafts which are between 3000 and 4500 characters. Please ensure you spell check your draft yourself and proof-read it as much as possible before submitting your statement for a review.
  • We like to deal with applicants directly, so please only submit your own work using your own TSR account.
  • All of our helpers are volunteers, so please be polite. If you are unhappy with the advice or your experience with PS Help, please contact a member of the moderation team by posting in this forum.
  • We cannot review statements once they have been submitted to UCAS and we cannot remove/delete statements once they have been submitted to our system. Your statement is safe from plagiarism in our private forums.

It is strongly recommended that prior to submitting your personal statement, you read our frequently asked questions in full.

Testimonials
Over 90% of applicants who have used PS Help felt that their statement was improved or significantly improved as a result of using our service, which was voted the best form of advice ahead of help from schools and family.

I would never have made it to Oxford without the unparalleled advice of the PS Helpers.
The service is fantastic, really. I recommended it to everyone on my course.
Alterations that were advised to me were unique to my personal statement and benefited in a way that no other free website could. Excellent.
