Stationery for the new term

Thinking of stocking up on stationery for the new school year? Our members have got you covered with their top suggestions of School Necessities!

The classic staple of any well stocked pencil case. Whether they're gel pens, biros, felt tips or colours; everyone agrees they're at the top of the list.

User CheeseIsVeg recommends the Paper Mate Ink Joys

Got 18 of these bad bois for £2.50 at my local Tesco What a cracking deal! Absolutely fab for making notes and revision cards, colours are great.
Would recommend

Meanwhile homeland.lsw prefers the Bic Cristal Grip

I've been using them for as long as I can remember and still use them now. They last a pretty long time, and are fairly smooth and of course cheap

Or you can go really fancy like Airmed:

I have a Livescribe pen from DSA, which means I use this special pen with these special notebooks, and so I can upload my handwritten notes to my laptop.

How are you going to use your beautiful new pens without a super collection of file paper? Our members have got your back with their top recommendations.

Mystery. normally has problems finding the right paper, but finds the Pukka Pad Jotta perfect:

Anyone else hate lined jotters where the lines are way too dark, I actually prefer plain paper more than anything, but I've found the perfect notebook with lines that aren't too dark that they make my writing look messy.

Ishax goes for an A4 notepad with dividers:

I usually print out my lecture slides (6 per page, double sided) so it's not too bad. Then I make notes in notepad. I usually write what slide number it and what lecture number it is so I don't get confused. I honestly don't think folders are necessary for my course, it's just extra weight for me to carry considering I commute.

Sticky Notes

Whether it's for revision or note making, these come in useful everywhere.

Desi_Scotsman has a mini folder of index tabs:

This little bad boy has been a life saver. Highly recommend this for attaching reminders when reading through dictionary/notes/books.

PlayerBB goes one step further however, with Magnetic Notes

These are the best, I used them in A-levels to write some hard/long words I need to memorise in biology and wrote all the chemical reaction in A-level chemistry, also those difficult math equations for integration or differentiation. I've actually either put them on the window or on my desk so they're always infront of me haha!

Pencil Case

Of course, where are you going to store all of your new stationery if not in a pencil case?

You may even need two like Airmed:

I have enough pens, of all different colours and brands, to cover my uni. Bit of an exaggeration, but I have 2 pencil cases stuffed with them.

homeland.lsw prefers a simple but sturdy pencil case:

Can't beat a good quality pencil case, mine is a simple Paperchase one, but is pretty roomy and doesn't take up too much space.
