Helena reviews the HP Envy x2

So I've had the products from Currys PC World for almost a month now, and I have to say that I'm really enjoying them.

The HP Envy x2 Laptop is definitely my favourite product from the selection, and I think something that wasn't immediately obvious was its really long battery life. My old laptop struggled to get through a two hour lecture whilst I was taking notes, but the HP Envy x2 has a battery life of up to 14 hours, which means that I never have to worry about it dying mid-lecture! It's also incredibly fast at booting up and shutting down, so there's no faffing at the beginning and end of lectures. At 11.6" it's slightly larger than my last laptop, and so slightly easier to type on, but at 1410g it's still light enough to carry around with me - and I think that portability is really important when you're a student. With its brushed aluminium exterior, it also looks fantastic, and when I've used it in public I get some really surprised looks off people when I turn it into a tablet! Despite my reservations, the tablet is surprisingly easy to type on, but for typing up set of lecture notes, you really do want to have a proper keyboard, which is why the versatility of the HP Envy x2 is so useful.

It doesn't come with any word processing software other than the basic Wordpad, but that wasn't too much of a pain as Microsoft have a student offer that allows you to buy Office with a hefty student discount.

It's also great to know that my computer is being protected by Norton 360 AntiVirus, and that my files are being automatically backed up by KnowHow Cloud Bundle. It saves me the worry of thinking that my computer might get a virus, or that I might lose an essay that I'm in the middle of writing. When losing an essay to technical problems can mean dropping a degree classification, it's important to be sure!

The Beats by Dr Dre Solo HD headphones are also going strong. I don't use them when I'm out much, as they aren't very compatible with a bike helmet! However, they're fantastic to use around the house, as you can listen to your music loud without disturbing your flatmates, whilst still getting the great sound quality that you'd expect from speakers.

Overall I'm really happy with the products that Currys PC World have sent me.
