• The Army after GCSEs

Do you belong at sixth form or college?

You don’t have to wait until you’re 18 to start your path to leadership, adventure and challenge. If you’re about to go into Year 12, and you have your GCSE or equivalent results, this scheme could be perfect for you.

We can help support you through your education with an Army Officer Scholarship. It provides financial support for future Army Officers while they study for A-Levels, Scottish Highers or equivalent qualifications. If you’re interested in starting an Army Officer career, this is your opportunity to get paid while you study.

If you’re granted a scholarship, you’ll receive £3,000, be awarded a provisional Army Undergraduate Bursary and be guaranteed a place at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, following university.

Further study is not for everyone and it might be that you feel ready to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in right away. It takes lots of different trades to run the Army. There are many jobs to choose from and the Army has one of the largest apprenticeship programmes in the UK.

Join us and you’ll be part of a nationally recognised scheme, giving soldiers the chance to work for an employer while learning relevant work-based skills. 98 per cent of our recruits finish the programme with valuable qualifications they can build on during and after their career in the military.

Your apprenticeship will be planned to fit around your military training and relate closely to your role. That means that as well as becoming a better soldier, you’ll be working towards a qualification that will also be valued by employers outside the Army.
