UWE Bristol Open Days

We look forward to welcoming you at one of our Open Days. An Open Day is the best way to find out what’s on offer here to see if you’d like to join us.

Everyone’s needs are different, so we’re hosting some Open Days on campus and some virtually for you to choose from. So whether you want to explore our campuses in person, or it works better for you to do things digitally, we have the perfect day planned for you.

No other event brings our campuses to life quite like an On Campus Open Day and we can’t wait to show you around. From subject-specific talks and taster sessions, to sessions on accommodation, fees and funding and the application process. It’s the perfect opportunity for you to explore our campuses, chat to our staff and students and see for yourself what it’s really like to study here.

If you can’t get to one of our Open Days on campus or you prefer to do things digitally, our Virtual Open Day will help you explore UWE Bristol from the comfort of your own home.

Courses and Fees

At UWE Bristol, everything we do is focused on preparing you for the real world. With almost 700 practice-based courses covering a vast range of subject areas across arts, technology, environment, business, law, health, science and society, you’re sure to find your passion here.

Our pioneering courses have been created in partnership with industry professionals. And over 100 come with professional accreditation from industry bodies. Coupled with world-class teaching, they’re designed to equip you with the most in-demand skills, and the kind of mindset that employers want and need.

UWE Bristol’s teaching is enriched by the university’s top-class facilities, strong industry connections and courses that are designed with career success in mind. There are also opportunities to get plenty of real-world experience alongside theoretical learning through work placements and internships.

Tuition fees for UK (Home) students for the 2023/24 academic year are £9,250, while tuition fees for international students for the 2022/23 academic year vary from £15,250 to £15,750 dependent on the student’s chosen course.

UK students can apply for a tuition fee loan which will cover the cost of tuition fees for the academic year. Some scholarships and bursaries are specifically paid towards tuition fees for both UK and international students.

Term Dates

You can view details of term times and key dates for the current and future academic years on the UWE Bristol website. The dates given are standard University term dates for most undergraduate courses.

Different dates may apply for some courses. There will be some courses that sit outside of these standard term dates, such as education, nursing and other health care courses, who’ll have their own structure for the academic year.

Facilities

In recent years, UWE Bristol has invested £300 million into its impressive range of facilities. Each campus contains purpose-designed buildings with industry-standard resources. You’ll also benefit from our newly refurbished study zones, stylish cafés and lounges and 24/7 library.

Engineering building
An inspiring engineering building, complete with engine test cells, wind tunnels, collaborative learning spaces, a flight simulator, and one of Europe’s largest robotics labs.

Bristol Business School
A £55 million modern Bristol Business School and Bristol Law School that reflects a real business environment and houses mock courtrooms and a virtual law office.

Film studios
Our £9 million award-winning film studios for creative industries students at Bower Ashton Campus house industry-standard production and post-production facilities.

PC labs
Newly refurbished PC labs at Frenchay Campus including a cutting-edge games studio, integrated studios for CAD (Computer Aided Design) and specialist architectural resources.

Simulation suite and Skills Centre
Modern facilities for our health courses including a modern simulation suite and newly-opened Optometry and Clinical Skills Centre, complete with hospital-standard equipment.

Crime Scene House
A crime scene house for forensic science students, featuring six specially adapted rooms to stage simulated crime scenes, designed in collaboration with the Avon and Somerset Constabulary.

 

Accommodation

UWE Bristol offers a wide range of places to live for students, including a range of options on campus and in the city centre.

There are over 3,000 students that currently live in the university’s campus accommodation, ensuring a lively and tight-knit residential community. And with over a thousand new student rooms on our main campus, we’re sure you’ll find something that’s right for you.

UWE Bristol’s accommodation options on and near our campuses include:

Rents range from £4,911.09 to £13,107.00 based on a student renting accommodation for ten months (40 weeks) of the academic year running from September to June. Costs can vary depending on the accommodation choice and catering options.

Costs are inclusive of bills, contents insurance and Wi-Fi. We also have bike storage, overnight security, launderette facilities and a discounted sports centre membership option too.

We have plenty of accommodation options to fit individual tastes and requirements – including specially adapted rooms if you have any additional needs.

If you’d prefer private landlord accommodation, we’ll give you a comprehensive list of our approved suppliers. Wherever you choose to live, you can be sure it’ll be safe, well-equipped and comfortable.

Living Here
