From a structured induction to flexible learning, tailored mentoring and on-going development, you’ll have all the opportunities you need to develop your skills and expertise.
Your induction will give you an in-depth introduction to the Treasury and the wider scope the Civil Service and Parliament.
Then as you start to learn the ropes as a Policy Adviser, you’ll have access to a mixture of training, e-learning, seminars, mentoring, and professional development. Your training will be tailored to meet your individual needs and covers a wide range of topics. As well as knowledge in areas related to our work, such as economics, public finances, and the different policy areas we’re responsible for, it also covers communicating with ministers, managing projects and engaging with stakeholders.
As you continue to develop your skills, you may choose to focus on specialist areas such as economics, finance, tax, public spending or policy project delivery.
