Vote for The Student Room in the Webby Awards 2014Some fantastic news has reached us: The Student Room has been nominated for a Webby Award!

The Webby Awards are the world’s most prestigious awards for Internet sites. Now in their 18th year, the Webbys are an established name, and nominees are considered to be the best websites in the world.

Past winners include Twitter, Google, Skype, Instagram, The New York Times, Tumblr, Wikipedia, Funny or Die…a list that TSR could soon be joining.

Vote for TSR now!

So how has TSR managed to be nominated for such a prestigious award? That’s easy: it’s down to you.

The Student Room is a community site and every single member helps to make it what it is. This nomination is recognition of how useful, interesting and fun you make TSR – and if we manage to win it will be a massive ‘well done’ for all of us.

We have been shortlisted in the Youth category, alongside four other nominees. The winners of all categories are chosen by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, an organisation that includes the likes of David Bowie, Richard Branson, Kevin Spacey and Twitter co-founder Biz Stone.

But we are also up for an additional award: the Webby People’s Voice Award. And this one is chosen by you.

In order for our community to win the People’s Voice Award, we’ll have to battle some tough competition and we need everyone to vote.

With the window closing on 24 April, now’s the time to help TSR to the number one spot. Click on either of the buttons in this article to go straight to the voting page. The Student Room has been nominated in the Webby Awards 2014

The winners of both the Webby Award and the People’s Voice Award will be announced on April 29 – we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
