Q: Tell us a little bit about the new single Learn To Love Again
A: It's the fourth single off the album, and it is one of my favourites. It has a different vibe to the rest of tour singles, and I feel like it is a bit of an anthem. I am looking forward to playing the song at festivals.
Q: The tour kicks off in a few weeks' time, what can your fans expect?
A: We really enjoy playing live to a big crowd. It will be a bit of a rock show, and people will get to see what Lawson is all about. We have been supporting a lot of other artists, so it is nice to be out there on our own.
Q: Who would you duet with dead or alive?
A: The band would love to have a female artist on vocals, so it would be great to work with someone like Taylor Swift, Katie Perry, or Jessie J. The country vibe of Taylor Swift would really bring a great sound to our tracks.
Q: Who are the main inspirations of you and the band?
A: I really love Bon Jovi, U2, and Guns N' Roses. The band in general really love Maroon 5, Kings of Leon, Adele, and The Script.
Q: What advice would you give to a young person that wants to make it in music?
A: We started really small, played in a lot of pubs and small clubs. What really helped us was the social media circuit. The song that got us recognised by a record label was a Bruno Mars song that we put on You Tube. It is a great idea to put covers on YouTube to get yourself out there, and really important to engage with your following on Facebook and Twitter.
Q: What was life like for you at school?
A: Life was really good, I was the kid who was friends with everyone. Music played a really big part for me in my school days, I started playing the guitar in year 7 and was in a lot of different bands throughout school.
Q: Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?
A: We want to be one of the biggest bands in the world. We would love to do huge arena tours and keep making good music for our fans.
