I saw that recent IAL grade boundaries were so high and people were moaning about them. I have also faced that as I took my exams very soon after the syllabus changed, and it was in the pandemic. I don't know what boundaries will be given, so I just aimed at 1-2 marks higher than the previous highest grade boundary for a given unit as my target score. I was already consistently getting such high scores in timed papers, which made me eventually find the GB much lower than expected due to covid, with one unit getting a score nearly 20 marks above the A boundary.

Although this will be tough, you will definitely thank me later for this tip!

Here is an example: The highest previous grade boundary of Physics Unit 5 was 79 for an A*. Set your target score at 81. For Unit 4, the highest seen was 82, so make your target score 84.
If you are already consistently getting your target score in timed conditions, regardless of the difficulty of the exam, you are definitely going to be in good shape, as you can still fall back a bit and still get your A*!
