Yh I think I got that right bit I can hardly remember .Also what did u guys get for the graph ,we had to find out what the distance from earth was on the graph

I didn't get 11.25 but lods from my college did. Yeah basically you got the method. You find the tangent and normal and where they intersect the x axis and then can find the area of the triangle. If all those are right you should get 7 or 8/10 which is what I’m hoping for lol

And yeah the hypothesis i used 25-7 for the male and p was probability of a male. If you use 7 then you should define p as being female and then be <0.5 I think as it is expected that males are >0.5 right?? that’s what I did with the male then accept h1 (I assume you mean reject h0)?

And yeah I liked the logs but I’m praying the examiner can read it

Right now my biggest worry is English Lit!!!

2019 Edexcel GCSE Maths Higher :

Predicted topics for papers 2 & 3

After looking at Edexcel Higher Paper 1 2019, I have made a list of topics that have not appeared yet including links to questions. Expect a lot of these to come up in papers 2/3but also expect some topics that have already come up in paper 1 to come up again -here's a full topic list.Unfortunately loads of topics didn't appear in Paper 1 so this is a very long list! A smaller list will be provided after Paper 2.

125 angle is corresponding sorry

ah i definitely failed

Thats good m8 me2.

Hi,

In past threads I've noticed some more knowledgeable people give a general idea what might be covered in papers 2 and 3 now that paper 1 has been done. Has anyone got an idea yet?

Not bad but it had a lot of constants

Not that bad. The standard deviation question threw me off as did the Beaches question

What did people get for the answers?

Think all mine are wrong😂

Hi willzzerr, the actually wording of the question was, "Work out the number of different three digit numbers that can be set for the combination lock". I think the word 'different' should be interpreted as meaning 'different overall' as opposed to 'different from the one shown'. It'll be interesting to see what they actually meant. Regards.

anyone have links to the ocr (not mei) one?

Is anyone has the paper number 1 ?

r u sure its 41 for a 4 in edexcel and not in the 50s ?

Lol I did not get that 😬

Is this higher or Foundation? They have some similar questions

How did everybody find it?

I personally found it fine

anyone disappointed by the last 6 marker part a question 10

Here's an unofficial mark scheme I started https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/sho...6#post83388106

Here's an unofficial mark scheme I started https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/sho...6#post83388106

i found it ok but most people in my year said that they probably failed

Hi, these are my answers. Please mention any corrections that need to be made

1.(a) Red 0.4, Yellow 0.4

1.(b) 60

2.(a)600

2.(b) 2

3. 18

4. Draw cylinder 4 by 4 by 5

5. C=-6, d=-1

6. 96

7. 8.5cm

8. (a) 80

8.(b) 0.000148

8.(c) 1/25

9.5 2/3

10. X=2.25, y=-1.3

11. (a) Median=59, LQ= 53, UQ=66

11.(b), Yes, as median for A is lower than Coach B

11.(c) No, The IQR and Range for Coach B is larger than A so B is more varied.

12. 100/225 or 4/9 equivalent fraction

13. If n is odd then, an oddXodd=odd and odd-odd is even, answer is even. If n is even, then evenXeven is even and even - even =even. So answer is even in both cases. It cannot be odd

14. 1/2

15. 48

16.(a)125, 60 ( not quite sure about this question)

17. X=5/2, X=-1

18.(a) 3 root 3, root 3 over 81

19.a=3,b=8, (3,-8)

20. H= 120 over root t

21(a) x+1 / 3 (b) 'show' question*

22. Red=12, Green=9

Anyone did s3 today?

Over the 3 maths gcse exams with edexel what is the required amount of marks for a pass obvoiusly the more the better but im just curious to the marks needed

If

How hard was the Aqa maths paper one??

Were there any fraction questions on the paper? Feel like I've missed a page as didn't see any!

I meant like what the most important topics can come up in p2

thank you

Sauare

Anyone know any topics that did not come up on paper 1 aqa maths gcse so we have a rough idea of what will come up in paper 2 and 3

I have got a feeling, that I've scored between 20-30 marks. I need a grade 6, how many marks do I roughly need in paper 2 and 3. Even though I think , I've scored more. Also ,if someone can please give me some revision tips, I've done nearly every topic on mathsgenie website from 4-9 and the past papers still I am not achieving those high marks thank you.

How did everyone find this paper today ?

Sorry you've not had any responses about this. :( Are you sure you've posted in the right place? :) Here's a link to our subject forum which should help get you more responses if you post there. :o

uno how we have end of topic tests like after topic 13 im doing aqa higher and wondered if there were any sites that would have like workshhetes and awnsers for that chapter individually thanks

Thank you

But I found some questions quite simple because they were easy like multiple choice but I still mucked some up

If the answer has to equal 1:2 then x = -1

Which seems way too obvious so...

If the answer has to be in a ratio of 1:2 then -1 or 2.5

But I’ve not studied maths for nearly a decade now so take that with a pinch of salt 😂

55/80 is still a great store but i understand you may be disappointed if you are aiming for a high grade. it is also important to remember that grade boundaries do change.

my number one tip is do as many practice papers as possible. for maths this is the way to revise. also make sure you know all of the formulas and things such as exact trig values so you don't lose marks on those. finally make sure to check the exam paper at the end to pick up on any silly mistakes.

good luck with all of your exams, i'm sure you'll be amazing :)

From @PearsonEdexcel sourced from twitter:

''Our papers are secure and we encourage anyone who is offered papers for sale to contact us immediately, as these are most likely to be a scam. We wish all students sitting their exams the very best of luck. (2/2

We would like to reassure students and teachers that images of our GCSE Maths exam papers circulating on social media ahead of the exams this morning are a hoax. We understand that students want to be confident in a level playing field. (1/2)''

HOWEVER, since new images have been circulating so it's not 100% at this time, just have to wait for new updates.

This afternoon I saw someone on twitter post a Snapchat picture of the paper we sat, with yesterday’s date at the top. So I think it probably was leaked, but don’t know whether we’ll have to resit it 🤞

What was the answer to the y= and x= in terms of p

Make sure that you know all your equations and maybe just look through exam questions you have previously done to read through mistakes so you don't make them again.

During the paper, you could start with the harder questions if you are confident however, this is debatable. Some people may say you should get the easier marks in the bag. Either way, make sure you don't spend too much time on the easier questions. Also, if you get stuck, don't spend ages trying to figure it out - come back to it at the end/once you've finished the other questions.

Good luck with your exams!!

Scared and unprepared and I'm not even doing it 😂😩

What did everyone get for the green pen question in foundation I got 53 ??

Hi everyone, keen to see what everyone else got!

teacher did the test after and from a quick look i got around 90 marks. was pretty easy and no revision

what did you lot get for the last question about the red and green balls with the fraction things

Please add any answers

Who got 36pi for volume

Was 92 an answer

The very last question was deplorable. The grade boundaries better be low because I surely dropped at least 8 marks and the most I've dropped is 6 marks in the Jan 2015 past paper. The grade boundaries for that paper were 60 for an A hence they ought to be around 60 for this paper too but then that's based on my experience and others' mileage may vary.

96 green pens

What did you guys get on the question about the party, 3 friends and 20%? I got 18

Ayttt so did you lot get 5/2 and -1

Hiya, you might want to check this thread out: https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/sho....php?t=5958822

It's not exactly an "unofficial mark scheme" thread but it's worth checking out.

You have to differentiate twice then make the result equal to 3 and solve for t

Did anybody else get 96 pens?

Shutup

did anyone who did the exam today find the answer to the question where there was a straight line and you had to find the value of the constant K

I'm curious to know what everyone got for the garden path question. It was a question that appeared to have a few stages.

I worked out the area of the garden path which was 600cm x 120cm, I got 72,000cm for that stage. Then I'm sure you had to work out the area of the paving stone, which I put down as 30cm x 30cm to get 900cm.

From that point I then did 72,000 divided by 900 to get 80 paving stones needed. You had to show whether the guy had enough money to buy the amount of tiles needed. I sadly panicked at this question and I'm not sure I did enough.

the questionshere have similiar difficulty and catagories with STEP. If anyone has done enough STEP it is a good place to maintain the feeling of doing questions.(though i think doing STEP past papers twice or more is a better choice...)

Hey guys, I know we got a few weeks till the exams but how's everyone revising and what topics do you think will come up?

What didi u guys get in that question about green pens ,red pens and black pens ?

Does anyone have a list of unofficial answers for todays paper 1?

put your answer

That paper has frustrated me.

I thought I did okay now my friends r telling me all the answers and I feel so dumb.

There was apparently a similtanioud equation one which I didn’t see any ?

The vectors one I had no clue.

Didn’t know how to prove that 180 in a triangle

I put 1.6/12 which I regret cos u can’t even get s decimal fraction.

The cumulative frequency and histogram I didn’t realise they were 2 separate groups.

And I didn’t know how to do the (a3)1/3 or somehring =1

Ugh I’ve counted I’ve already lost 40 ish Marks

I want a 7 but every answer my friends said I got wrong

People share answer come on

Was the last question bearings?

What answers did you guys get? (Paper 1)

I think the it was somehow hard

any one have the m2 paper for 21/05/19

So how did we all do?

like 3 or 2 marks?

Guys how’s the exam. What was the answer to the hemisphere and cylinder quesiton

How did everyone find it? What did you guys get?

If you're on about the wjec higher paper last question well what I did was rearrange it so that once side was have rearrange, multiply by the denominator to simplify and then set as 0. After that you can form a quadratic and work out what x is. I got x =-1 and x = 1/8. Sorry if this is really unclear. I can't remember the exact question.

Send answers to any questions

Shoutout to Edexcel for not only adding mechanics into the specification, but the god forsaken boredom of statistics. :#

Here's the specification as well as the Sample Assessment Material (SAMS) paper:

https://qualifications.pearson.com/c...athematics.pdf

https://qualifications.pearson.com/c...tics_draft.pdf

There are seven questions in the SAMS paper, 6 of which are pure/core, the other one is mechanics. Don't know if this is a good thing (chance for there being no stats question this year) or a bad thing (not having access to single AEA stats question for practice). In my opinion, the mechanics question is the hardest on the paper.

what did you get for the simultaneous equation about p

Does anyone know answers

no it was probability i believe it was this there are x red counters and x green counters , the chance of taking a green counter is 3/7 , two green counters and 3 red counters are added , the chance of picking a green counter is 6/13 , how many green counters were there originally

am i the only one who found that paper easyy

How did everyone find edexcel gcse paper 1?

What were the answers

Paper was relatively hard, but I kind of expected it. I think I’ll get a C or B if boundaries are low.

sup i can’t find any threads for just the 1h paper and all the others were confusing me. so how did you find it?

Are the marks for both papers added together for a final grade? I would like to know in case I have performed poorly/average on the first paper whether I could still achieve a high grade or if it would be out of reach speaking hypothetically. I have still to sit the second paper. I have been revising since December from a GCSE Higher (not IGCSE) textbook. However, much of the information in that book wasn't in the paper and a lot of what was in the paper I simply couldn't answer towards the end of the paper due to incorrectly preparing for the exam. Another week would be sufficient for me to be better prepared for the second paper.

Post your answers

Wasn’t too hard

how was 2019 GCSE maths

??

How does everyone think they have done then😭😂

How did you guys find the paper?

What did you think of the exam? Feel free to post answers to any questions you remembered.

Like there were questions trying to trip people up, but I managed to spot them and get accurate answers. So it went very well for me

I just had my maths non calculator paper and I think I got around 52-60/80 in the first paper. The sixth form I want to go to wants a high 5 in order for me to do a levels otherwise they only offer me a vocational path. I was wondering how many marks would I have to get in the other papers to get a high 5. Thanks

How did your maths go? I did higher and I think I totally flunked it. Like...I feel like I got 20/80 and I normally get 50/80. I'm actually so upset.

Anyone else find that ****ing impossible

Anybody have any answers they wanna share

Unofficial mark scheme

u failed and got a 2

jk hope u get a 9 dmb guy

easy paper

So I am studying IGCSE in China, and I did Edexcel math 1HR yesterday. My friends said all of the questions are hard but I felt pretty easy. I think I'm gonna get at least A.

My only problem is that I wrote my surname at the given name section and my given name at the surname section. Well, my teacher said it will be ok... so I'm trying to relax and study for 2HR which will be on next Thursday.

well, anyone did 1H here??? How was it?
